Sweet and Salty Trail Mix

A sweet and salty, crunchy and chewy trail mix with all the good ingredients in equal amounts. A healthy snack for every road trip or anytime if you fancy something delicious!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup cashew nuts
  • 1 cup almonds
  • 1 cup pistachios
  • 1 cup dried cranberries or cherries
  • 1 cup chocolate chips semi-sweet or dark
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt optional

Instructions

If you chose to buy roasted nuts

  • Give the dried cranberries or cherries in a large mixing bowl and stirr through the salt
  • Add all the nuts and chocolate and stirr until everything is well mixed

If you chose to buy unroasted nuts

  • Line a baking tray with parchment paper and set the oven to 350°F (180°C)
  • Give the nuts on the baking tray and roast for about15 min until slightly browned- stir them well after 7-8 min
  • Set aside and let cool completely for about 1 h
  • Give the dried cranberries or cherries in a large mixing bowl and stir through the salt
  • Add all the cooled nuts and chocolate and stirr until everything is well mixed

Notes

If the nuts you use are all roasted and salted you might not want to add extra salt
Store in a zip lock bag or air tight container in a cool place
