Basic Homemade Salsa

A easy and quick raw salsa recipe with a fruity, spicy and tart flavor. A great topping for sandwiches, burgers or any salad.

Ingredients

  • 200 g cocktail tomatoes - I used a mix of yellow and red ones
  • 1 large spring onion
  • 1 T lime juice - appro. juice of 1/2 lime
  • 1 T red wine vinegar
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • chili flakes or 1/2 tsp sambal (optional)

Instructions

  • Chop the tomatoes and spring onion and give them to a small mixing bowl
  • Add the lime juice and red wine vinegar and stir well
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Notes

You can serve the salsa immediately but I recommend to let it sit in the fridge for at least 2 h to help the flavors to delvelop.
For a little heat you can add a few chili flakes or a tsp of sriracha
You can store the salsa in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days
