Happy Monday party people!
I am back (for today at least). But I am in a really good mood and thought I can share a few funny things and lighthearted snippets from the past few weeks with you guys today. Also, I miss this and you guys very much and I am just not ready to say goodbye to the whole blogging thing yet.
Anyway, let’s skip the whole intro thing and catch up instead. I am also linking up with this lovely lady again!
If you have read my last post you might know that I have started teaching at the university a few weeks back. I teach Master students and do some counseling for Bachelor students. And I feel all kinds of feelings regarding my suitability and qualification for that. For the most part, I am doing an OK job I guess and I only cried ones in my office so far. And as no one even saw it I will just pretend that it never actually happened.
In the course of work, I had two very entertaining moments where I almost reenacted sitcom gold from the past x years (I do not dare to count back how old the friends moment really is)!
First, in my first ever class I almost pulled off a Mosby! Aka I almost tried to teach the wrong class the wrong subject! Thank god it was an almost! But all the other awkwardness pretty much is very comparable to how I feel and most probably also act. It’s a learning curve!
And then I also am kind of facing a Ross problem. Aka I have two classes back to back in another part of the city. I need to try to get to switch rooms for the second class because it’s almost impossible to manage.
In my last post, I told you that I am not really doing okay. While I won’t pretend that everything has changed I can say that I am feeling a lot better. Being really really busy has given me no time to focus on myself at all and exactly what I had predicted and hoped for has happened: I am content, grounded and calm. Something I haven’t felt in… let’s be real, I have probably never felt like that for more than 5 minutes.
Then last Monday I received the proof copies of my book in the mail. The lady at the DHL shop where I picked up my parcel must have thought that I am a bit crazy but I was just really really happy to finally receive them. It’s been a long time coming. Now I am in the process of collecting the last signatures and then I have to give a few copies to the uni library. I expect that I will never have to think about it by Wednesday latest.
Apart from working a lot I also go out so much at the moment. I am usually meeting up with friends at least 3 out of 5 weekday nights. I spend so much more money than before and I am extremely exhausted but I love seeing my friends so much. And I love how I reconnect with people I haven’t seen much in the last two years. I just now really realize what I have been missing!
On top of all the new things I have been trying to catch up to in the last few weeks I have been fighting with a nasty cold for a while. Last Friday it finally hit me hard and I stayed on my sofa all day long watching trashy Netflix shows and resting. It was everything. Somehow trash TV is only fun when you actually don’t have time for it.
Apart from new shows photography is still one of my favorite things to spend my time with. I shot a portrait session with a friend of mine and I am still shocked at how versatile she is. Shooting and editing was so much fun and I cannot wait for the next time we go out to take pictures together. We plan to utilize the fall foliage in the English Garden. Fingers crossed we make it! It’s been grey and wet for a few days now! But I can also see the appeal of that! After all moody is my preferred style!
As for food photography, I am playing with light and lighting. I am not hating the final product. Also, this Croque Madame was just amazing!
There is nothing more for now! I have another really busy day lying in front of me.
We think about maybe going to London for a very quick visit. Basically just a weekend. It’s nuts but we just really really miss the city a lot. Only the pricey flights hold us still back.
Let’s see what the future brings. Christmas soon for sure!
