Nature is just pretty darn awesome in fall. When I drove back from work yesterday I passed a small lake and was confronted with this spectacular view. Of course I had to stop and take a few pictures. Can those stunning sunsets never end please? I could lose myself entirely in these kids of moments.
I spend the rest of the evening pretty happy and content. Fall calms me. I am less restless. It’s a nice and pleasant change to my usual unsettled mind. Maybe I was also happy because I had a darn good day of eats!
Many thanks to veggie loving Jenn for hosting our weekly food party <3. Let’s get the party started 😉
For breakfast I had – you’ll never guess, especially not if you read the post title – CAKE!!! As I wasn’t hungry in the morning I didn’t eat at home as usual but brought the last remains of the Raw Vegan Orange and Fig Cheesecake to work and had breakfast whilst catching up on some blog reading. I feel like I am always behind these days. By the way if you’re now totally mesmerized but this awesome cake – I certainly am! – the recipe is due to be posted for you on Friday!
Since my experience with eating Paleo before the summer was such a good one I thought I might give it another try. I am not Whole30 strict again but I will cut out grains and sugar and cut back on legumes, peanut and dairy products. Nevertheless I relied on a fantastic Paleo approve lunch – Spicy Beef Burger with baked Sweetpotato. Definitely one of my go to meals during the Whole30!
My afternoon snack was an apple followed by a pre-workout fruit bar. I was very thankful to myself for eating another pre-workout snack as we had a tough metcon WOD:
The chocolate roo’bar was my dinner dessert. Nothing ends the day better than a healthy dose of chocolate. I don’t care if it’s such a bar, nougat chocolate (my favorite) or chocolate ice cream. A bit chocolate just makes life better. Today a focused on a Paleo friendly version.
In the evening I needed my veggie fix. Go veggies! Zucchini Spaghetti absolutely hit the spot. They are surprisingly filling. But chocolate happened anyway 😉
Thoughts about a regular chocolate fix?
Cake for breakfast – yay or nay?
Have a great day and have some
