Hi everyone,
my sense of days and time is totally off at the moment so I am happy I didn’t miss Thursday. Let’s start Thinking out loud! Thanks Amanda for being such a lovely host 🙂If you want to learn more about the idea behind the link-up just click here
1. Narnia
I’ve been missing out on posting for the last few days. We were visiting family and though I brought my computer with me I decided to take a break from blogging and just enjoy my free time. Saturday and Sunday were quite sunny and we spend the days and evenings outside. Then it began to rain 😛 But then were stuck in the house for the better part of Monday and Tuesday. We visited some events but I didn’t take any photos as the lighting was horrible. On Tuesday we got a little cabin fever and went to the town.
We ended up drinking a Sprizz in a small coffee to wait until the worst rain was over. After some time we had to leave though and arrived at the house like this.
Soaked to the skin but with a smile 🙂 Now we came home for today and tomorrow but we’ll go back Friday. More family time with some narniaresque experiences (and hopefully more photos) and a holy lot of fabulous eats. More to come next week…
2. Food
Due to my little vacation I missed out on posting my Whole30 recap. So I will do this next Monday instead. Just a few things in between about food: I’ve been eating EVERYTHING I wanted last week. This bread for example I was dreaming about. Ice Cream, Cheese, Chocolate and alcohol. Let’s just say that I am feeling not good. I blame the grains and sugar and pray it’s not the cheese! I am so craving going back on a paleo style diet. I would never have thought this would happen. So now I go back and try to sneak in some cheese 😛
3. Family Time
At the moment almost all my time is consumed by my family members. After publishing this post I am going to see my Mum and sister and later I pick up my niece Grace from school. We’re going to spend the day together. Then tomorrow we are going back to my husband’s family and when we come back on Sunday we directly go see my family as my uncle is turning 60 this Sunday. As much as I like my family and spending time with them I am so glad when I have alone time next week. I love them AND they drive me crazy 😛
4. The Spellmans
Talking about family I need to introduce you to one of my favorite fictional families: The Spellmans. There is a book series by Lisa Lutz a slightly eccentric novelist about a family of private investigators in San Francisco who spend most of their energy on spying on each other. It’s hilarious and charming with a lot of wit but at the same time with a pinch of life philosophy and fatalism. I love it! There was a new one released back in June and I got my copy last week and save it for a plane ride 🙂
5. Smart Phone
My new phone arrived and I love it! The camera is awesome. I love it and can’t wait to set it up properly – hopefully tomorrow – and take tons of pictures over the weekend!
6. Nail Files
My nails are horrible after my last manicure. They are broken and too soft! I want my nail polish back! By the way an information for Miss Polkadot: The polish my nail artist uses is for professional use only but one of my friends had the exact same nail color last week. This was #211 from L’Oreal!
Can there be such as too much family?
What happend in your life last week?
Have a lovely day my dear friends!
NARNIA!! I hope you recap it…it looked amazing!
Don’t give up on the cheese carbs and ice cream- I made that mistake by going gung ho after whole30 and felt the pain but then realised- you’re body isn’t used to it. Just give it time. And cheese. Lot’s of it!
I won’t give up on cheese for sure – never!!!! but my tummy hates me for that at the moment 🙁
I too have been spending lots of time with family. In fact, I just got home after a family filled vacation on the beach. It was so much fun seeing everyone, especially my nephew who I only see about twice a year (he lives in Belgium during the school year) so it was great, although I’m home now and that’s great too. I do have to go back to work tomorrow though. Sigh. Oh well, I’ll live vicariously through you. 🙂
Oh Belgium IS really far! I hope you had a good time and could relax and recharge a little. And I hope work won’t be so rough from now on! I’ll send you tons of pictures from my vacation 😉
