Hi everyone,
I am a happy girl as it’s Thursday and we have a bank holiday in Germany. Thanks to Amanda Thursdays are for Thinking out Loud and exactly that I am going to do now! If you want to learn more about the idea behind the link-up just click here
1. Photography Class
Today I seize the opportunity of that day off and tackle one of my spring want-do’s. I enrolled in that one-day class my mum-in-law gave me for my birthday. So today is the day I finally learn how to handle more than the automatic mode at my camara. I am already looking forward to knowing my camera better but I was too lazy to read through the manual. The class is given in small groups of maximum 6 people and we are supposed to try all the adjustments by ourselves. I am already curious what I will learn 🙂
2. Cross Fit
My very academic breeding makes me research and read all about the things I consider doing or I am interested in. Whatever it is I always read all about it first. So at the moment I am reading all about Cross Fit. In that process I remembered a fun youtube clip I first saw on Chelsea‘s blog a couple of month ago. I need to share this cross fit funny with you today. Hilarious!
3. Working at Starbucks
Yesterday my PhD colloquium started again after spring break and I took the opportunity to get some work done at Starbucks in the afternoon. It was so good just to sit there and work concentrated on my strategy for the next 8 weeks when I have to present my research findings. Starbucks just has such a stimulating work environment. And best about it: The return of the Iced Soy Latte. Finally it is warm enough to indulge in that goodie without shivering 😉
4. Movie Love
As you know I am not a big movie fan. I usually enjoy TV series much more than movies but this one is just a piece of gold. I haven’t been emotionally affected by any movie for ages but The Secret Life of Walter Mitty just touched me. In a nutshell the plot is about a man who lives a stable but boring and somehow lonely life he tries to enlighten by constant daydreaming. Then something happens and he is forced to take a risk for the first time in his life. And as soon as he dared something his life turns for the better. The mood the movie introduces, the nature, music, the characters and message – everything is just beautiful. And even my husband liked it! We’ve watched it twice in the cinema and I pre-ordered it on DVD. And as the DVD arrived yesterday I instantly watched it again. I really really warmly recommend that movie to you! You won’t regret it. Promise!
5. Hairy decisions
Okay now it’s getting serious! I need to make an appointment at the hair dresser’s and I am convinced to go for a layered yet long hair cut. But I am still undecided when it comes to the essential question: bangs or no bangs? Any recommendations???? I am so 50:50!
Now I need to dash! Wish you a very happy Thursday 🙂 And don’t forget to check out more witty randomness over there.
Just shave off the damn hair! 😀
Stop giving me Starbucks envy……we don’t have anywhere near enough here and they are so stingy with letting people sit and work. Fail. I should invest in a good camera- In fact, I think I’m going to think about it…out loud. 😉
Oh yeah, why haven’t I though about doing a Britney??? 😉
I love my camera. Though I take a lot of my pictures with my mobile I really can’t deny the fun a good camera provides!
Go for the bangs! It’s a great way to change up your look without having to do anything TOO drastic. Bangs grow out pretty fast, so you don’t have to worry so much if you end up not liking them. And who knows? You may love it! And I couldn’t agree more about how amazing it is to do your work in Bux. I go there every morning and I swear that my creativity goes up a few notches as soon as I walk in the door.
I think I’ll go with the bangs. You’re right they grow out pretty fast!
Yessssss to Starbucks! I would die if I were able to work there every day! AMAZING!!!!
Get a long side fringe and then you can always easily grow it out if you don’t like it! Your hairdresser should be able to advise you too
You’re right. I only need to carefully prepare my decision in order to prevent me to chicken out last minute 😉
Ahh I can’t decide what to do with my hair either but either way I guess it does grow back lol
Definitely 😀
Love that you have committed to the class! That will be so much fun!!! You are going to have such a great time 🙂 I am glad to read about the walter mitty movie as I had been wondering about it. Have a wonderful weekend Juli 🙂
I am so excited! I hope it will be a holy lot o fun 🙂 Hope you like the movie, too and I haven’t raised expectation the movie doesn’t meet. Hope you had a wonderful weekend, too!
I’m probably too late but I say get the bangs. It’s good to change things up every so often. Keeps us on our toes. I hope you’re having a great weekend.
No you’re not too late. I am going to the hair dresser’s not before next week. I think I am really getting the bangs! Hope your weekend is great, too!
