I am back! London had been a blast and I can’t believe how fast the last few days had passed. Stefan was a bit worried the trip couldn’t live up to my expectations as – you might have guessed that from my further posts – my expectations were gigantic! But there was nothing to worry about.
I’ll give you a short overview on the last days in my favorite city of the world. So come with me on a fantastic trip 🙂
Where we stayed
We catched the flight on Thursday and everything went smooth. We took the Heathrow express to Paddington were we stayed in a newly furnished, cheap yet absolutely clean hotel which is my no means standard for London. The good places are usually pretty expensive. So if you ever go to London tune hotels is really a place I can recommend.
What we ate
Just a short overview on the best eats we had on our trip. I’ll tell you more about my birthday eats tomorrow for WIAW. There was a chocolate swirl, some sandwiches, a huge pancake and salad and wraps from pret-a-manger! And then there were some fabulous cheeseburger as well 🙂 We always shared obviously – so you can try more 😉
And then I discovered Whole Foods 🙂 I can only say that I found my personal heaven! Stefan was joking that I could hire as a sales person and ask for being paid in food! I reckon I took his joke more serious that he liked 😉
I am so in love with their burritos! And the salad bar was amazing by any standards!
What we shopped
Aaaah shopping in London always is so much fun. Running and training gear is much cheaper and I found a nice outfit for my half-marathon. Comfortable and a motivation boost! Unfortunately I can’t show ou the stuff as my suitcase got lost on the flight back home 🙁 Luckily I was already contacted by the airport and it will be delivered tonight.
What made in between
Of course we did a lot of walking. We made a huge tour through London and visited all the famous landmarks. My legs were so sore in the evening!Borough Market was a great experience for itself! All the food and all the colour! And then we strolled a bit around Southwark until rain made us go inside for a cup of coffee 🙂
Flipping through the pictures of our trip I can’t believe how much happened in only four days!
On Sunday we also met up with our old house-mates. It was so much fun that we cancelled our evening plans and stayed all evening at a nice and cozy pub catching-up, drinking and laughing a lot! Meeting our friends alone had made this trip absolutely worth it!
Hope you had a lovely weekend, too!
Ahh London is one of my favorite places! So jealous! I can’t wait to go back one day!
I am so in love with London that I practically start planning the next trip as soon as I am back 🙂
Juli you have made me miss London soooo much….I think I may need to ban myself from your blog when you do your America recaps!
I could live in the wholeFoods salad bar.
