I am back from my two days away with my PhD Group and Professor. I’ve talked a lot about my presentation last week so I think it’s only fair to tell you how it went. Well we did a lot of talking about my topic and I got some really helpful information about how to proceed with my research. Basically my professor told me that I was on a good way and should continue the way I suggested. I am really relieved and feel more motivated and energized regarding my thesis.
It’s pretty early Sunday morning now and unfortunately I can’t sleep anymore. But I ‘ll grab that opportunity to join in Arman’s Spill it Sunday link-up.
First it was really difficult to narrow down the 5 things that mean most to me. I had a few books in mind but then I thought about it in a different way. Do you know this game when you’re asked what you would save if your house burned? It must be 5 things that are not replaceable easily. So I came to a different choice of things.
So what matters most to me….
#1 My Engagement Ring & my Wedding Ring
#2 My Computer
I love my computer, I need my computer it’s only a piece of electronic but I have a very emotional relationship to my computer. I’ve all my photos and music on it. I use it to blog. I save all important stuff on it. It carries copies of important documents, my research and all my wedding planning. I even take my computer with me on holiday to save photos, stay in touch with my family and – okay guilty – watch dvds 😉
#3 My Phone
I never thought I was that attached to my phone until I forgot it at home a few days ago. I was smitten! I use it to stay in touch with family and friends, I listen to music on my phone, I use it to find out where to go and how to go there, I take pictures, answer comments on the blog, check social media channels and even manage my appointments and to-do’s like my shopping list. I used to laugh about people who couldn’t live without their phones but I have to admit I am one of them 😉
#4 My Camera
My camera was a birthday gift from my parents-in-law and I just love it. I love to take photos and therefore my camera is a very important part of my life. Unfortunately I’ve never learned all the possible settings my camera offers. But for my next birthday (which will be in less than 4 weeks :-/ ) I asked for a photography course to learn more about my camera’s functions and how to use them. Can’t wait for it!
#5 My Journals
I always carry at least one calendar and one journal with me. I am obsessed with them. I think scribbling down what happens and what I do helps me feeling I hold on to all the precious moments of my life. Time rushes so fast and memories fade. Writing about them makes me feel like I could preserve them colorful. Does that make sense? Most precious in my collection of journals are my travelling journals. I love travelling and I love to take notes and collect memories of all my travelling. I’ve already got my San Francisco Journal and I am waiting for the New York Journal to arrive. I am going to prepare them for the trip within the next months. A huge part of the travelling fun 🙂
And here is my Obligatory Selfie 🙂
I took this by accident as I tried to take a photo of my yoghurt bowl 🙂
So that’s it for today. We’ll have a family lunch later to celebrate my father-in-laws birthday. Thank you Arman it’s a pleasure as always 🙂
Who’s watching the Superbowl tonight? We do though it’s in the middle of the night. We even took the day off tomorrow 😉 Have a lovely Sunday!
