Hello everyone,
I was dreading Monday a bit all weekend long. This week is going to be long and exhausting. I will have obligations every single evening. And my morning started a bit shitty (sorry to say so but there is no euphemism here). I had to deal with a Mentee who withdrew from the program. Of course it was one of those who had been demanding and tiring right from the beginning. Then my colleague is off sick (again) and I have to cope with her workshops this week. I forgot to bring a mid-morning snack and I am hungry! And I will have someone here for interview and survey in about 1h and my survey account doesn’t work! I wanna cry!!!!! I already tried to contact the admin but he didn’t go back to me so far!
So as I can’t do anything value-adding at the moment I will add some value to all our diets and share with you this delicious new recipe of me.
Although it’s coming clear this is to be a terrible Monday it’s still time for a new recipe…
Last week I’ve been watching this Hungry for Change movie. It was interesting yet a bit missionary in the end. At some point the girl protagonist started juicing and I can’t get green juice out of my head since then. So I had to buy two extra expensive green juiced last week until I remembered that over a solid decade ago I once owed a juicer myself. After texting my Mum I knew it was still somewhere in the cellar. My Mum found it for me and I bribed my husband into cleaning it. Yes, it needed a decent cleaning! It looks as good as new now! Well done, honey 🙂 I toyed around with some ingredients and found a lovely recipe which I call:
Queen of the Green Juice
Ingredients (ca 400 ml):
- 2 hands of spinach
- 3 celery sticks
- 1 medium apple
- 1 thumb-sized piece of ginger
- 6 small-medium carrots
Directions:
This can’t be easier. Give everything to your juicer and after juicing stir until everything is well blended. You can serve it on ice for a fresher juice experience.
The recipe is so good for us as there is so much green in it. Chlorophyll is a natural source to detox the body. The ginger fires up the metabolism and there are a lot of vitamins as well. Is there more you need to hear? After next week I will love to add beet roots to my juices but at the moment I am not allowed to have beets due to an upcoming medical examination next Monday. There will for sure be more from the juice front in the next time 🙂
I hope your start to the week has been better. Let’s see what the week brings for all of us! For me at least some more extraordinary juice experiences!
Do you like juices? What’s your favorite?
What if I have a fat thumb? Will the juice be really gingery? 😉
I’m not a big fan of juices but my mum loves them- she makes one similar to you, but sometimes puts beetroot in it!
Hope your day improved- that does not sound like the greatest start 🙁
I was brave enough to jump into a self experiment and pretend I had a sumo wrestler’s thumb. Yes the juice was very gingery but I liked it nevertheless. Maybe I have to add that I am the one to eat the leftover ginger even after all the sushi is gone. I LOVE GINGER!
In the end Monday turned out rather good. The afternoon was much better than anticipated and I was okay with the day in the evening! Thanks 🙂
That combination minus the spinach (only cause I’ve never tried it with it) is probably my favourite combo right there! I don’t have a powerful juicer though nor enough space to store one in our apartment otherwise I’d buy one.
When the spinach is really fresh you don’t really taste it. It just blends in but adds so much value to the whole thing. In color and nutritional value! You should try it someday. I thought the same about my kitchen and a juicer. But mine is really tiny. It’s not bigger than a water kettle.
