Five on Friday #6 – Creating a balance

December 20, 2013 by Juli 1 Comment

Hello everyone,

today I only have a really quick update for you linking up with the Five on Friday fun with all you other wonderful bloggers out there!

Today is my last office day before Christmas as I am working from home on Monday. The pleasures of working at a German University 🙂 I had a cozy week work-wise and a little busy week life-wise. Last week I definitely had my work-life balance corrected towards life. It was about time to do so and I am happy I really made it happen! So here you go with five amazing chunks of life…

go big

Last weekend we had our Soccer Club’s own Girl’s Indoor Soccer Cup. Our head of department went a little crazy and bought these HUGE winner’s cups. In the end we had about 25 clubs at our sports hall. Oh my gosh you can’t belive how dirty the hall got. It was a lot of work but it was totally worth it. Over the last couple of years the cups went bigger and bigger. This was definitely the epitome of craze. I wonder how big they will be next year 😉

cookiesI love me my christmas cookie baking! I made a huge batch of cut out cookies last week and I am not fully done with it. Tomorrow two of my nieces and my nephew will come over to us for cookie baking. I am absolutely looking forward. My tiny cookie monsters are so adorable 🙂

Yesterday I spend a wonderful day with my mum and sister, aunt and cousin. We squeezed us all together in my aunt’s little car and made a trip to Landsberg. It’s a nice medieval town only 45 minutes from where we live. We went gift shopping and had a nice lunch at a typical Bavarian restaurant. Family time is so important! And the best thing about it? We were brilliant together! No fights, no blood spilled… no jokes aside. We really had fun together 🙂

christmas treeFinally the apartment is ready for Christmas. On Wednesday evening we finally put up the tree. Here in Germany most families I know put it up on the 24th of December but since we’re all out and about over the holidays we decided to have it for a little longer. I am really happy with the tree. We love to have it a classy gold and red. The apartment feels even more cozy and homey now. Can’t wait to put the gifts underneath the tree 🙂

Augsburg fairHere’s my last want-do accomplishment for 2013: Visiting the Christmas Fair in Augsburg. We went there with my co-workers and had a fantastic time. It’s a wonderful christmas fair located in the old town center of Augsburg and it’s definitely worth a visit. I had two mugs of mulled wine. Brilliant!

So for now only 4 days to go! Love it! I’ll call it a day/week around noon today. I have some tiny bits and pieces to get done till that so I  better hurry now. My weekend will be full of celebration, shopping, baking and meeting friends and family. On Monday I’ll start with the Christmas traditions. I’ll tell you more about those on Sunday 🙂

Due to all the Christmas fun I am eating and drinking so much crab at the moment…I give my tummy a really hard time! But at the moment I don’t care!

Do your eating routines change a lot over the holidays? Mine certainly do! How are you spending the weekend? Do you already have all your gifts together?

Have a fantastic weekend!
