Hello everyone,
I hope you had a wonderful weekend! Mine was again not very relaxing but I certainly had a great time. Friday evening began with a BBQ with my husband’s family in their garden. It was really nice and we had a great time. Around midnight we even displayed some leftover firework. But I am pretty sure this was one of the last opportunities for spending the evening in the garden. In the afternoon the air had been pretty crips and after sunset you could have almost called it cold. This was not the coolness of an early night after a sunny day anymore but the creeping coldness of a fall night. I loved it! Saturday we first had a coffe at the local coffee shop and then met up with the whole family to celebrate my husband’s grandma’s 95th birthday! Happy Birthday Oma!!!
Around 4pm we hit the road and went back home. We spend some time food shopping and I finally got my new pair of Nikes. LOVE THEM!!!!! You might recognize the colour 😉
Around 8pm a former colleague and friend of mine came over for a relaxing evening. We had a lot of fun and she even stayed over at our guest room/ office/ “gym”/ the room where all the stuff ends I couldn’t find another place for. You might know what I mean. We will spend a weekend in October together in London and will spend some girl’s time there 🙂 So much looking forward. Sunday morning we finally booked our flights and accomodation. YAY – London, I’ll be back soon!!!!!
In the afternoon I spend some hours at the gym and food prepping. Nothing major but I loved it. Today my body is pretty tired. Not sore but a little slow and lazy. If I had any time today I would go for a relaxing run but I have several appointments today and unfortunately this has to wait till tomorrow.
But initially I wanted to tell you something totally different…. what can you do with your almost too ripe bananas?
At the moment I am really almost addicted to any kind of fruit. The stores are almost too full af perfect peaches, berries and melons and I tend to buy way too much of it. So it happens a lot that I find my bananas abandoned and too ripe to eat properly. Here are some wonderful things you can do with bananas when they are too ripe to eat in one piece but luckily not already off.
Banana Ice Cream
Just blend your banana with 1tbs of peanutbutter (or as much as you like) and freeze it. IT’s wonderfully creamy and I promise you won’r miss any dairy in there. It just tastes like real ice cream but it’s so good and healthy for you! I also works great as a pre- or post-workout snack. Is there more to ask for?
Another great healthy banana treat especially in summer is a wonderfull…
Frozen Banana Macchiato
Blend your too ripe banana with 1/2 -2/3 cup milk of your choice. I love almond milk for a nutty flavour. Soy milk works very well if you prefer a neutral milk. Put it to the freezer and let freeze for at least 1 hour. After 1 hour it should be rather icy but not too solid. If it’s solid you might need to use the food processor again. Add 2 hot shots of espresso and blend until well combined. Enjoy ice cold! Too delicious!!!
Hope you have a great start in the week.
Love Juli
A frozen banana macchiato sounds like it would hit the spot right now! I ALWAYS have leftover bananas that never get used, so I appreciate you sharing these recipes 😀
I am happy that you liked it. I will make one for myself today too
I really like the idea of the frozen macchiato. My mom has given up her beloved coffee creamer and starbucks so I’d love to surprise her this weekend when I’m home with a delicious coffee recipe. Stupid question- espresso shots are like what? Really strong/concentrated coffee? Obviously I’m not much of a coffee drinker. Haha. Whenever I get it, I just drink it black 🙂
You’re right. An espresso shot is a strong brewed small coffee. It’s what the Italians call cafe.
Let me know how your mom liked it. I lately “forget” my bananas in order to have a excuse for making this frozen macchiato. 🙂
