Spicy Beef Burger Patties

Author: Juli@1000lovelythings

Ingredients

  • 600 g ground beef
  • 3 T hot mustard I use a whole-grain brand
  • 3 cloves of garlic - finely chopped
  • 1 tsp ginger paste or finely chopped fresh ginger
  • 1 T tandori masala
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp kurkuma
  • 1 tsp Sriracha or any other hot sauce
  • 2 T orange juice

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C (360°F)
  • In a large medium mixing bowl combine all the dry spices
  • Add the mustard, garlic, ginger, Sriracha and orange juice and stir well until you have a spicey paste
  • Now add the ground beef and knead through until the spices are completely mixed in the meat. I use my hands but you can also use a fork.
  • Now divide the meat into 4 parts, give every part another gentle knead and form a patty
  • Place them on a lined baking tray and bake in the oven for 10-12 minutes
  • Now flip the patties and cover with cheese if you like to make it a Cheese Burger
  • Bake for another 12 minutes

Notes

I really recommend using your hands when you knead in the spices into the meat because for me it never worked properly any other way
The spicy paste will look and smell like too much for the meat. It's supposed to be that way. The meat will swallow some of the flavor. A little too much is exactly right!
