This is for sure a rare thing for me to say but it’s Monday morning and I am full of energy.
I have just had a very good and very funny week. In fact, all in all, I haven’t been so happy for no obvious reason in a while. And I love it! Maybe it’s the beautiful summer we are experiencing right now. Maybe it’s something else. Probably all the food I was lucky enough to devour last week! Who knows… I am not questioning it!
So without further ado, let’s do some catching up! I am of course also linking up with Meghan for the Week in Review!
After having kept the ‘immortal Basil plant’ alive for a good year now I am confident enough to try to grow something. I am starting with cress and sunflowers and also this little guy. Cross your fingers for me and the poor plants. I have a pitch black thumb!
The thing is, I always forget to water them. Much like I forget to drink water. So I have started to monitor my water intake last week. Why is it so hard for me to drink 2 liters a day?
Getting food in never seems so hard!
Finally, after procrastinating for months I got a good chunk of manuscript work done. I am confident to finish it and send it off to my professor tonight. Working at Starbucks one day has helped immensely. At home, there is just so much distraction!
I met with my two former colleagues now friends for brunch at a new Café in Augsburg. After I complained about the lack of poached eggs on Germany’s breakfast menus in this post very recently, I was put right in a very pleasant way! It was delicious!
We went to a surprise birthday party of a friend. We had a BBQ and I prepared this Pesto Pasta Salad and a green salad with Stefan’s super yummy salad dressing. Both were a hit!
Then the cold that had bothered me for days finally hit and I spent a whole day on my couch with a book. Guilt-free relaxing and guilt-free reading included. It was everything! And also it was over after one day. Maybe that was all I needed! The pizza we ordered that evening didn’t hurt either!
As part of our usual Friday night curry and drinks shenanigans, we cut up a giant Watermelon and made Mojitos.
I successfully adulted a lot. Aka I did laundry, cleaned the apartment and together with Stefan did the weekly grocery shopping and got rid of all the junk from the basement.
For all the hard work this week we rewarded ourselves with a little trip to a Cafè in our neighbourhood and had Ice Coffee.
Saturday we had grilled veggies and cheese. Halloumi and Feta. My oh my – I didn’t even miss the meat!
Stefan and I went for a walk and checked out a new Gelato place that opened a few weeks ago. It was delicious! For sure it wasn’t the last time we went there!
Recently Stefan is trying new recipes a lot. In an attempt to recreate a fantastic chunk of meat we had on our recent trip to NY he tried his hand or short ribs with chimichurri and crispy potatoes this week. I was a huge hit! I love to be with someone who cooks with so much love!
Way too soon the weekend was over and now we are back at our responsibilities. For me, this means more manuscript work today. Maybe also a nap though. Balance, you know!
Have a great Monday, party people!
