It’s Monday morning and I am bushed.
The last two weeks have been very busy. I cannot remember how I kept up with everything pre-thesis and how people organize life with a regular job, social and private life.
I am not complaining, just wondering. Also, we had daylight savings time in Germany yesterday and losing this single hour left me tired all day. No matter how much coffee I poured into my body it didn’t properly wake me up.
Maybe it was also because my weekend was exhausting. Brilliant yet exhausting.
Without further ado let’s catch up on what has happened here lately. And as always I am linking up with lovely Meg!
A few weeks ago I had booked a workshop for last weekend and so I spent Saturday and Sunday with a bunch of people working on my portrait photography skills. Or probably starting to develop some in the first place would be more accurate.
Saturday was focused on working with available light. And Sunday we tackled working with a flash. All in all, you can sum it up as dealing with a lot of equipment, holding up different reflectors and bouncers and trying to interact with a human being all whilst trying to figure out how to best control the camera settings. Easy peasy lemon squeezy!
We worked with a modal both days and she was all kinds of amazing. This is my favourite picture of her. I love the romantic fairy tale vibe.
Next to learning a bunch of new things I always love these workshops for all the people you meet. And it’s always so funny that in my opinion, the people with the biggest and most flashy gear and all the opinions don’t at all produce the best pictures. But the reall amazing ones always come frm the the unpretentious and open-minded people. Every single time!
I started to work out regularly again a few weeks ago and I love it. I am so unfit, it’s excruciating but that’s what you have to deal with when you are the lazy sod I have been for way too long. The most enjoyable is the post-workout coffee though. Clearly, I have my priorities in order!
I am also trying to eat healthier again. Let’s not talk about the half the bag of chips I had yesterday evening. But apart from that I am eating a ton more veggies and less processed food. Luckily the asparagus season is just starting and I am excited!
I spent a lot of time with my family and friends. My mum and I went window shopping in Munich and we had lunch at my favorite Vietnamese restaurant. I babysat my nephew and we built Lego together. Also, it was my nieces 4th birthday last week and so I attended a birthday party. I also met with a friend for a coffee and grocery shopping because we were both so busy that this was all we could fit in.
I cleaned the apartment, did all the laundry, went to the dentist and got a professional tooth cleaning. Also I made a bunch of appointments and scheduled my last counselling session for next week.
But my favorite part as in any week was my Friday evening. Stefan came home not too late and we sat in the kitchen chatting and laughing while he made Thai Curry and I made Moscow Mules.
This is our little starting the weekend tradition and I couldn’t love it more.
With the Easter holidays coming up this is going to be a short week for us here.
Today my plans include recharging from the weekend, writing emails and doing a few things around the house. Tonight we are going to meet friends and the next three days are pretty much fully booked already! Where does the time go…
