Hello party people, long time no see!
Okay, so we’re back home. And everything is the same yet everything has changed! I don’t love it but I don’t hate it either. It is winter what is a little downer but moreover, I am a bit overwhelmed by having spare time. I am in this awkward phase of figuring out how to deal with my new situation. Meaning I will have to figure out how to structure and what to do with my days.
This sounds a bit more dramatic than it is. I just need to find a good balance between frantically ploughing through my to-do list and coalescing with my couch. I am not there yet. There must be a sweet spot somewhere. But when I take a look at my calendar and notice that I am basically completely booked this week. So much for finding a middle-ground.
Anyways today I am linking up with Meg and tell you what I did since coming back home. So let’s catch up!
So since coming back I unpacked my bags, folded away a lot of laundry, cleaned my laptop and camera equipment and cleaned up all travel related mess. I ignored a lot of the other mess though!
Also I cooked a lot!
I caught up with all my mail, email, made a few appointments and went to see my gastroenterologist. It’s check-up season!
I cleaned the apartment twice. Vacuuming is still not my favourite past time.
I saw my mum for coffee and had dinner with the in-laws.
I decluttered my cupboard and got rid of a lot of dishes we never use. That was mainly because I needed to make room for all the food props I bought in Australia. Let’s be real here, I will need a few cute bowl for photography but I won’t need to be able to host 20 people for dinner anytime soon. More so since we wouldn’t even be able to seat 20 people in our apartment at once.
Speaking of food props, I spent a large amount of time with my camera last week. After not having time and also not really wanting to do a lot of food photography last year the spark is kinda back. Maybe that’s also because I got a new lens in Australia and IT IS AWESOME!
I also made granola as you can see!
I spent way too much time with my career counselling homework. Mainly because I am at a point where it frustrates me. So I unleashed all my procrastinating skills on this one task. But eventually, I had to do it. After all, I am spending money on this. I really wished to be away for a bit and getting some distance would help me see anything clearer. But in fact, I am more torn and confused than ever.
I went on a long walk through the woods by myself. And I went on an even longer walk with Stefan once. It was nice to breathe some air and move a bit even though it was pretty cold and muddy.
We babysat our three nieces for 24 hours. It was fun, it was intense and when we came back home I napped for 2,5 hours.
In general, I have been pretty social and caught up with a few friends on a few different occasions. More going out it already scheduled. In 2018 I am going to become a social butterfly! Just kidding. That’s never going to happen!
Anyways I have an appointment now and need to dash! Happy Monday and happy 2018 again!
