Ever since booking the car for our trip last week I am bouncy. In the good sense as well as in the supposedly bad sense according to my husband. Because I am literally bouncing through the apartment. I am bouncing on the sofa. I am bouncing when I walk. Maybe I am somehow channeling my inner 4 -year-old. I am definitely challenging my husband’s nerves who’s miraculously finding me pretty annoying. I argue it’s still much better than grumpy and moody me.
But how couldn’t I be super excited? Less than two weeks until we board a plane. Two weeks until we’re in Melbourne! Three weeks until lots of beach time! I CANNOT WAIT!
But seriously I think booking the car was the missing piece of the puzzle that flipped the switch and made me see how everything is going to come together. Connecting the dots so to say. And now I am happy and excited. Interesting what spending a shitton of money can do to you! Does that count as retail therapy?
Speaking of retail therapy, last week I went wild! I got new shoes, new clothes, underwear I don’t have to be ashamed of if border security searched my bag in front of me and completely necessary coffee and tea mugs for photography.
I also shopped for Stefan and I think we’re both good to go on a summer vacation now. Then I shopped another pair of shoes.
The temperature dropped to around 5°C and I got 50+ sunscreen
Due to my online shopping spree, I am now a good friend of the new DHL guy. We celebrated our new chumminess by him telling me the newest scandals from our local DHL department. I think I should get him something for Christmas!
Speaking of Christmas presents: Due to the fact that we will spend Christmas on the other side of the world, we have a deal with most adults in our life to not exchange gifts this year. It is a huge relieve. But by chance, I found the most perfect gift for a friend and I just had to get it! Can someone please destroy my credit card?
After planning to post the recipe for weeks now I finally managed to write the post for this Bavarian Potato Salad. I forgot how exhausting it is to write recipe posts. Sometimes I wish I could just do the photography and someone else could write the posts for me. But when I think I should maybe stop posting recipes then I don’t want to do that either because I love food photography. Standoff! Anyway, the recipe is the bomb and if you love potatoes you should definitely check it out!
I finished two evaluation reports for work and met a bunch of clients. Next to that, I also started to clean up my computer and began to pile up my personal stuff in the office. SO MUCH STUFF!
Besides all the time I spent in front of the screen I also had a lot of off-screen time being social. So I met with my ex-colleague for a catch-up. It was so nice to see her again after a few weeks!
We had my mum over for pizza one evening and we celebrated my mom-in-law’s birthday with the whole family. From this gathering, I retreated for 20 minutes in between. It was basically hell for the highly sensitive noise-wise. I love my in-laws. A lot! But they are loud as hell!
I was making a solid effort to eating healthier for the last two weeks. It works well when Stefan is here and I cook. But when he was gone on a business trip last week all I ate was bananas with almond butter, roast potatoes, and eggs. But on a positive sidenote, I am finally off of pretzels as a main meal. You have to take things as they come.
I made a boatload of nut butter!
Because I am an over-worrier and have watched way too many episodes of Border Patrol Australia I spent hours reading through customs regulations. I think I am prepared now. Why am I always such a chicken when it comes to immigration? Oh and we also got our visas.
Some adulting happened on the go but I didn’t pay attention too closely. In fact I was dancing my way through adulthood last week!
The game plan for this week: more adulting and getting ALL my shit done! Staying happy, excited and bouncy!
The game plan for today: Getting me some coffee and lunch because apparently I slacked a little on the adulting front yesterday, working on work and linking up this posts with my darling Meg!
Have a lovely week, party people!
