Happy long Easter weekend, party people. I hope you have a good and relaxing time with your loved ones.
I had a pretty good yet NOT AT ALL relaxing week. But you know, I am okay with that because I got a lot of shit done. So without further ado let’s jump straight into last weeks shenanigans. As always I am linking up with Meg for some fun with lists.
- I worked from the University library most days of last week and it is the perfect work environment for reading and writing. That kinda came like a surprise, right? I usually start my day at the campus coffee shop where I have breakfast. I made it my mission to try all their muffins. So far I am loving the blueberry one!
- I also had an work event on one evening and even though it was a really good one I am actually pretty thrilled by the idea that this one was the last one of this kind I’ll have to host. It’s a weird thought but one that fills me with anticipation at the same time.
- I went to Crossfit twice. It was good. I love to have that as part of my weekly routine. Sometimes it feels like the only constant in my weeks.
- Stefan and I went on a wine and pizza date. No more words needed!
- We also had a cooking date. He made Chicken Tikka Masala and I provided the naan. I am going to brag a little and tell you that my garlic naan making skills are pretty awesome by now.
- Finally the bathroom renovations are done. So we decided the long weekend would be the perfect opportunity to do a spring clean. So we spent about 9 hours on each Friday and Saturday cleaning the apartment. I let wine help me wash down the dust. Because a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down…
- I continued my quest for the perfect water to coffee ratio!
- I did some online shopping. Time to pace myself now.
- Easter Sunday we hung out on the couch, napped a little and spent the afternoon and evening at my in-laws house celebrating Easter. As always my family meant it a little too well with the amount of food provided.
Today the food craze will continue as we’ll have brunch with my family. My side of the family isn’t known for depriving themselves either. I expect a food coma later today.
Hope you guys had a good long weekend. Because the craze will for sure catch up soon enough!
Belated happy Easter!!
That sounds like an awesome mission. How many muffins have you tried?? Also, you’re totall making me crave Indian food like a mad woman right now.
Happy belated Easter you too 🙂 Haha I am sorry?!
Nine hours of cleaning? Geesh, you more than outdid me on the spring cleaning front. We’re twinning on the bathroom renovation though in my case it was “just” the lighting and the two-day-effort was thankfully done by my amazing grandpa and dad.
Garlic naan sounds great and I like your muffin trying mission.
I hope today will be a lovely and delicious ending to your Easter weekend before a hopefully not too stressful week ahead!
It’s not that I particularly wanted to spend so much time cleaning but we got new tiles and everything and the WHOLE apartment was covered in dust. And that stuff was sticky 😛 So I though why not take advantage and just do a proper spring clean. There’s more to come but I have to make a quick run to IKEA in advance.
Hope you had a relaxing Easter weekend, too!
I spy a giant bowl of homemade whipped cream. Swoon. I’ll trade you some for leftover cream cheese icing. 🙂
I think all spring cleaning should come with wine. We really need to do a round of it here, and I’m not sure it will happen. My few free moments are too precious these days to spend on my hands and knees…scrubbing of course. 🙂
I think you’ve found the ideal work environment, especially when you pair it with a blueberry muffin.
Happy Monday and Happy Easter.
Confession: cream cheese frosting > whipped cream for me 🙂
Hahaha I totally get you. I actually got carpet burn… from scrubbing the tiles ;-P We kinda had no choice though. We got new tiles and everything and the apartment was covered in sticky dust.
Urgh sadly the semester starts next week and the campus will be flooded with students again. Fingers crossed the library will still be relatively empty for the first two weeks or so.
I’m definitely supporting your new work environment and coffee choices. Starting the day with a good coffee and piece of baking somewhere outside your house is kind of my gold. Good job on the spring cleaning. I guess this is the time for that, isn’t it? Maybe I’ll think on it… soon…. after I get wine.
I would like to learn how to make Naan. Actually I’d more like to be a part of that freaking dessert table you had at your in laws. Oh my god – you guys!!! All the CAKE!!
100% yes to that. And that’s something I really miss to do regularly. Being a student (or pretending to be one in my case) has itsx advantages.
The wine didn’t help for long though. I had a small lunch, got a bit tipsy, sobered up and was completely tired then. Dang I just should have had a second glass I guess ;-P
The naan is THE easiest recipe ever. If you want shoot me an email and I’ll send it to you.
I’m so glad you are getting some peace and quiet in the uni library – and for it to have a cute little coffee shop too with awesome muffins that’s just a bonus!
I think david was a little jealous when he saw your kit Kat bunny on Instagram… I am jealous over the naan!!
I am seizing the peace and quiet until the semester starts again next week. Urgh fingers crossed the library will still not be crowded the first few weeks.
Haha it’s my fav chocolate bar ever and I always request a kit kat easter bunny and santa clause for that matter. How’s the Indian food in Perth? Have you guys already got to try some?
