It’s time to show my summer recipes some extra love today!
In the summer months there’s one thing (okay technically two things) I buy every time I go to the groceries: Lemons and Limes. I do love me a splash of tartness in my recipes but in the summer months I feel like no dish is perfect without a little extra Lemon or Lime.
Last year I had a crazy phase with BBQ themed recips and almost all of them contain citrus in some way. As it gets warmer and sunnier outside I find myself making these recipes on repeat this year again. So I thought it’s time for a neat little themed round up today!
All 10 recipes are easy to make and need no fancy kitchen equipment. If you have any kind of mixer or blender you are set to whip up any of them. Even a hand-held blender will suffice – at times this is my most used kitchen gadget. No excuses!
Get out your squeezer and let’s show the lemon and lime some extra love this year!

Lemon Basil Moscow Mule
A fresh and herby Moscow Mule variation with a nicely balanced flavor of sweet and tart! The perfect drink for a late summer afternoons and mild evenings in the garden.
Homemade Spiced Butter
Just imagine the wonderful herby and tart smell of a big piece of melting spiced butter on a crispy steak, a tender corn cob or a steaming hot potato. And do you know this wonderful sound the knife makes when you generously butter a crunchy grilled slice of bread? Just awesome!
So now it’s your turn. Go to the groceries, stock up on some citrus, get out your squeezer and whip up some epic lemon and lime summer recipes!
Are you a fan of citrus flavors?
What’s your favorite summer recipe?
I pretty much need all of these in my life because I know those marinades would go great on some roasted veggies too, although I particularly want the spiced butter and the key lime smoothie. Not together of course although they are both calling my name.
We definitely have to grill and make spiced butter in summer. And then have some Key Lime Pie Smoothie for first breakfast 🙂
Citrus always feels summery to me and these recipes look amazing!
My favourite summer recipe has to be anything with watermelon, cherries, berries – basically any fresh summer fruit! Or mangoes – mangoes are definitely my summer fave 😉
Thank you 🙂
Oh yes!!!! Fresh summer fruit! Love it. I am in for all things berries and melon! Yum!
Also there’s mango in the key lime pie smoothie. Such a refreshing combo!
What a timely post and wow everything looks so good! I love grilled corn and that always makes me think of summer. Yum!
Thank you 🙂 I LOVE grilled corn but the corn in the USA ruined it for me. It is so damn delicious! The one you get here in Germany can’t live up to my taste expectations at all!
