Oh hello Monday there are you again! At the moment I embrace you a lot because every Monday brings me closer to the big Canada/ US vacation. I know, I know I sound like a broken record but that’s pretty much what I am living for at the moment.
Our trip last year was just so much fun and I can’t wait to make new awesome memories this year!
But 5 weeks are yet to get through and I am pretty sure they will pass quickly with so much going on at work and off work as well. Last week definitely had some highlights. So let’s have a look at last week for now, shall we?
Last week started awesome with Stefan and I meeting in Munich. After I’d spend some time alone drinking Starbucks Iced Soy Latte in the sun we met at ‘Hans im Glück’ a Burger restaurant with a freaking wide range of different burgers. Luckily I already know their menu because otherwise I’d have never been able to choose. In the end I went for a beef patty on a whole wheat bun with roasted onions, smoked cheese and BBQ sauce. I also had some of Stefan’s fries.
And then we went to see the Minion Movie <3 Gosh that was fun! I laughed so so hard. It was a bit of a challenge to find a cinema that screened the movie in English but I found one eventually. This is exactly the kind of film I can’t stand to watch in translation. So much fun gets lost!
The week passed in a mix of slowly and in a rush. I started to interview again which goes great and I had three workshops with my participants. All of them went really well but sucked all my energy out. I don’t want to be whiney but it is high time that my time off starts because I can’t anymore. But okay let’s not talk about work anymore.
My ‘weekend’ started early on Thursday afternoon as I worked from home on Friday. Technically it was a workday and I did some work but it’s always much more relaxed when you can do other stuff in between as well. Like cleaning the apartment 😛 Where I found this bag of potatoes in the back on my kitchen drawer! Fail!!!! I hate to waste food. Especially after I had already burned a zucchini and some bread on the grill on Thursday.
On Saturday morning we went to the blueberry fields with my aunt. It was nice to catch up after some time and we had a good and productive morning! I went home with over 6 pound. Needless to say that I stuff my face with handfuls of berries every time I enter the kitchen 😛
And of course on Sunday morning we had to have blueberry pancakes for breakfast!
Relaxing was the key word for this weekend. I spend my afternoons both pretty much the same: napping, binge-watching Daria and stuffing my face with Ben & Jerry’s! Awesome!
On Saturday evening we were invited to a house warming party at our friends’ new house. I am not an envious person in general but holy moly do they have a great kitchen! It is so light and spacious! I love it! The garden is fantastic as well. They had their first baby in April.
And they put so much effort in all the food and decorating the garden. It was warm and cozy – a midsummer night’s dream!
So all in all it was a cozy weekend with not too many plans and that was really really good. This week will be a teeny tiny bit exhausting again. Today I spontaneously decided to stay at home. I have a headache and some things to do I am sure wouldn’t be doing if I was in the office. With 4 people being there today I’d be most probably interrupted every 5 minutes or so.
Tomorrow I am interviewing and on Thursday I am flying off to Berlin bright and early at 7 am! I’ll stay there until Sunday and Friday and Saturday will require much brain power :-/
Today is also one of those insanely hungry days where I could stuff my face every hour. Maybe I’ll just do! Dinner plans include this lovely Grilled Veggie & Pesto Sandwich
So now I have to work!
Have a great day and a good start to the week!
