Hello again. Another Wednesday, another ‘victim’, another day of food. I love this little experiment of eating my way through another bloggerβs archives so much. It’s a fantastic experience so far π In a nutshell I cook and eat (and enjoy) a full day of recipes of one blogger each time.
In week #1 I got my veggie fix from lovely Meg over at Clean Eats Fast Feets
And in week #2 I explored all the strange but good with Laura over at Sprint 2 the Table
And now for week #3 let’s dive into The Big Man’s World of recipes!
Confession #1: I make a lot of his recipes already and I might be a teeny tiny bit obsessed with these cookies!
Confession #2: I adore this guy! I love his charming wit, all the sass and his more serious posts as well. In a twerking contest I’d always bet on him (I only say Santa’s Twerkshop!) and when it comes to a coolness competition between Canning Tatum and No-Bake Boy I am all ‘Channing Who?’ (But don’t tell him, I don’t want his head to explode π
So on Sunday I embraced my inner fangirl and enjoyed a full day of eats Arman Style – excuse me #WholeArmanStyle
Breakfast
Aaahm yes. We had Granola made on the grill. Wisely I divided it in two batches and promptly lost sacrificed half of the first batch to the fire gods when the foil ripped mid-shake. Use good quality foil, Juli!!!!! Luckily there was a second batch which survived the grilling but not much of the breakfast. I was intrigued by the idea of heaving melted marshmallow and melted chocolate in my granola and so I added it to the warm oats and stirred it through. EPIC! I added a little cashew milk and enjoyed a fantastic breakfast of Campfire S’mores Granola. Stefan licked out the foil. What happened after the breakfast is history and can be looked up here!
Lunch
After all the sweet I was happy to have a savory lunch planned. And some meat. This recipe was one I had in my mind for weeks but never managed to give it a go. The Healthy Pho Noodle Salad was a winner in my books and made a great lunch on Monday as well. I love when recipes have leftover lunch potential and this one clearly has! I also loved the cashew topping for some extra crunch.
Snack
I spend some time in the kitchen after my second NOD (nap of the day) and whipped up a batch of these No Bake Sun Butter Bars! It took me some time as I had to make sunbutter first. The lazy sod in me wanted to back out again but I had set my mind and wanted to try those bars for ages!
They were so worth having to clean up the food processor! The texture is amazingly soft and chewy and the chocolate just adds the right amount of crispness. I gave a fuck about making them paleo and used Lindt chocolate. I would have added more chocolate but mid-pour I ran dry! Whaaaaaaaat????
Dinner
We spend the afternoon on the balcony with the bubble machine and a bottle of wine. Around 8 pm I got hungy and needed something to soak up some wine with. When I am feeling fancy I make pancakes for dinner. So once again I whipped out my magic wand and whisked up some pancake dough. Cinnamon Bun Protein Pancake dough to be precise! Luckily I have a large pan and can bake three pancakes at once. So it didn’t took me too long to make dinner. The cream cheese frosting is bomb and I ate my way through the cinnamon bun-ish – pancake tower even though I was not hungry anymore in the end! What a delicious day!
Many thanks dear Arman for posting these wonderful recipes and making this day of eats possible. You know already that I love what you do. Please don’t ever become (no-bake) cookie cutter and keep bringing on the creative and amazing recipes.
And also many thanks to lovely Jenn for hosting WIAW!
Okay guys, now I am going to check out what you had on your plates this week. I might feel a little hungry and seek more inspiration!
Have a great Wednesday, friends!
Ok I love the abreviation ‘NOD’ – totally going to use that!
And some recipes just require Lindt! Life is too short to be without Lindt chocolate…!!
I must confess I giggled a bit when I was typing this π
Lindt for the win! Fun fact: I used to believe that I didn’t like Lindt chocolate because my granny always bought Lindor. Turns out I just don’t like Lindor but love all other Lindt products π
Totally love that you had pancakes for dinner. That’s something I find myself doing more often that not even though it’s not “the norm”… Also his recipes are my fave! That granola on the grill sounds so good!
Winner Winner pancake dinner π
The granola is so worth it. But use good foil!
Yum yum I loooove those recipes – those bars look so delicious. Wtg on making your own sun butter! Is it difficult? I haven’t made any nut butters yet- I’m a little intimidated and wondering if it’s worth the time/cost/effort.
Yay for WIAW!
I’ve NEVER seen any sunbutter in Germany so I have to make my own. Actually it’s pretty straight forward. Roast some seeds, let them cool, blend! And nut butters are so crazy expensive here. Say round about 10 Dollar for a tiny jar of almond butter. So I usually take one Sunday, roast 5 sorts of nuts and then make 12 jars of nutbutter or so. Cleaning the blender is a pain though!
I follow this recipe for a good sunbutter. http://www.everydaymaven.com/2013/sunbutter/
What a cool idea! I usually make a few recipes from my fav bloggers here and there but a day dedicated to their archives would be so fun π
Also, Arman’s recipes are bomb!
Me too. One here, one there but I tend to forget the ones I don’t make immediately. So this was a cool way to catch up π I agree – fab recipes!
No bake sunbutter bars look incredible. And every time I see pancakes on a blog I think “I’m making those tonight” and then I never do. I think tonight has to be the night.
They were really really good. Especially the next day!
Winner winner pancake dinner π
What a neat idea to eat your way through another blog! Ha! Thanks for the fun post. If you’re in the mood for muffins or cookies later, I’d love for you to check out my healthy baking recipes π
π Thank you! I will check them out later! Thanks!
Believe it or not but here I was sitting and waiting for the reveal of this week’s blogger of choice ;). Or along those lines. I hope Stefan skips this post because he might not like confession #2 …
Also: NODs! I sometimes wish I was able to take them when I haven’t slept enough at night but they always leave me feeling somehow groggy.
Onto the food! All of your pictures look great but those pancakes take the cake [pun not originally intended].
Ha! He had to come at some point, didn’t he? And I am sure Stefan can handle this.
Sometimes they make me groggy too especially when I nap after 4pm but that was around 2pm so I was fine. The pancakes were amazing. I am such a bad pancake flipper but the texture of the dough made it really easy. Luckily they turned out that beautiful. Usually my pancakes are a mess π
Pancakes for dinner? UM YES! Totally something my husband would do – Ahem, I mean, Arman! π
BAH HA HA HA AH! I love that call-back π
You, my dear, are beyond amazing. Not only do you make my balls (lol) and send me them upon making, you also made……non balls. I’m honouring a special recipe to you coming up π Oh God you’d better know what it is.
Lol, balls π I can only say that all I said about your recipes is absolutely true and so deserved.
Thank you so much my dear! And I have an idea π
You’re awesome. Also, I’m totally gonna work on this NOD business (Nap of the Day). Maybe we can also have a BOD (Booze of the Day) too.
Love this so much!!!!! Let’s have a BOD and then a NOD π
