Monday Monday – my I have to run day….
Mondays are always busy here. Everyone is in the office and people want to talk with you about everything! Weekend shenanigans, the newest dramas amongst their friends, food, the weather and sometimes even work related stuff!
Today is the first Monday in my new owl planner and I promised myself to start every week with a little week planning. I plan my workouts, blog posts, work events and loosely which tasks I want to finish at which day. The odds are I keep it about two weeks until I relapse into old habits aka scribbling endless lists and losing them in the thick of things but you never know. Maybe up from today I am going to be all organised 😉
But now let’s move onto the important things and catch up on what happened last week
Work caught up with me last week. Meaning I had enough to do to keep me occupied but not so much to leave me exhausted. That’s how it should be all the time. The only downside is that my project actually doesn’t require a lot work from me at the moment but I am knee-deep in another project that totally pisses me off. It’s not my project, yet I find me working on it all the time!
My thesis still suffers. I haven’t really done anything since my last presentation 2 months ago and I feel horribly guilty about it. One thing is that the project didn’t really allow me to work on it and the other thing is that I had zero motivation at all. By Friday I kicked myself in the butt and send mails to all my former participants asking them for help to get a control group. Over the weekend half of them already send me names and contact information of their colleagues. Now I have to contact them all. You have to know how to outsmart yourself 😉
Shenanigans seems to be my favorite word at the moment but it’s fitting. So I just go with the flow….
My weekend started pretty fab! I came home from Crossfit and after showering I made myself comfortable on the couch with a giant cheese sandwich and Daria. I was beyond happy when I finally found it in the mailbox. It’s an Australia import and doesn’t run on my DVD player but I don’t care. I love Daria!
But it’s funny how much I seem to have forgotten about it and moreover how little they seem to have aired in Germany. But from my perspective today this is even better as it’s like a few brand-new seasons to me now! Happy days!
On Saturday we went for the usual grocery shopping tour and later caught a train to Munich where we went to a big compartment store specialized on sports equipment. We had to get some stuff for Stefan. Shoes, shorts, more shoes, a hoodie and so on. We also checked out the hiking equipment but the store was so crowded that we decided to go somewhere else on a different day than Saturday afternoon. Oh and we found him a cap! That’s huuuuuge! It’s not easy as let’s say he doesn’t really rock any kinds of headpieces 😛
Around 5 pm we hit OhJulia’s. Boring you might think but is it actually boring to go to a place on repeat that serves these kinds of pizza? We don’t think so!
After we had polished off the board we felt a little desserty. We walked the 20 minutes to Ballabeni my favorite Gelateria in Munich. Yes some fellow Munich people will argue about that but my mind is set. Ballabeni makes the best Italian Gelato in Munich. Stat. And they offer ice making classes. Sometime I will take one <3
They offer about 12 flavors on rotation but as much as I always try to order a different flavor I always end up with dark chocolate anything. On Saturday I had dark chocolate with ginger. Pretty darn fantastic! The best thing is they always let you try another flavor, too. I tried caramel which was perfectly creamy. They also serve vegan ice cream what I actually find outstanding for Germany!
We took the gelato and went to the garden in front of the ‘Pinakotek der Moderne’ where we set down on a bench and spooned the deliciousness. Oh yeah and it’s totally cool to wear a beanie in June.
Sunday was a slow day. I had a very sugary breakfast what isn’t really good for me when I don’t get enough run afterwards. On holiday when you walk through a city it’s fine but when you just lounge on the sofa it’s kinda horrible for me as well as my husband. I was bouncy and giggly and it might not have been very helpful that I watched that little Minion scene on repeat!
I am laughing so much about it! All the time! Only when I think about it. Even right now!
Half an hour later I took a nap lying half on the hubby, pinning him down and he didn’t dare to wake me up until I slept off the sugar rush. Poor guy!
The day also included some meal prepping, some epic eats and later a bottle of chilled white wine on the balcony. And I took out the bubble machine! Love it! Exactly what a warm summer Sunday should be like <3
Food, Food, Food
And then the food! I am always overwhelmed by how much eating good food always cheers me up. Good food and a good attitude. I mean not short time like a consolatory brownie but like it’s a totally different sense of life. I am so cheery all the time. It scares me 😛
On repeat in my life is still the fabulous Avocado Cheese Panini, graciously provided by lovely Meg. I think about it night and day, I’m addicted and I just can’t get enough!
On Wednesday I shared a full day of eats provided by Laura. Fab stuff – check it out! And then come back next WIAW for my third victim!
On Friday I shared the first secret marinade provided by the famous king of marinades who also happenes to be my husband. Don’t miss out on the wonderful Oregano Ginger Marinade
So that’s it for today! I am a teeny tiny bit bouncy and I am also a teeny tiny bit unmotivated to work now. Bad combination 😛
Have a great day and a good start to the week!
