Hello friends! It’s a sunny and cloudless day here in Juliland! Finally! After the shit we had to face over the last weeks I am so glad I have better days lying in front of me now! I am back with a real blogging scheme and it feels good to finally have the time back to post the things I want to post. Today I’ll just go with the flow and release any thought I have out loud.
Okay maybe I edit a little 😉 Not everything I think is appropriate and blogable (is that a word?)!
As we speak I have lunch and I am already past the first meeting today which was a workshop with three very nice participants I am already looking forward to work with over the next year. I have totally changed my attitude towards work over the last week. Until now I couldn’t enjoy the part of work I always enjoyed most just because I had so much stress. Now I try the different route. I try to enjoy my work and hope it won’t stress me so much that way! So far it works 🙂
A lesson I’ll never learn
Never go to the groceries when you’re hungry!
Haha how funny. And apparently the organic supermarket I usually go to has broadened the range! I couldn’t resist to buy rice pumpkin ginger noodles, beet root powder (hello red velvet anything!) and this giant coconut water 🙂 Should I really admit that this had cost me 30 Euros in total? Ooooops!
Peeps, next week I am going to be in London! I can’t believe time was rushing so fast and it actually totally gobsmacked me when I realized I’ll be there already by this time next week! I’ll be walking on Harry Potters paths and stuff my face with Reese’s Chocolates and face-sized cookies. And then I am completely raiding Whole Foods because these are the things I enjoy most! God save the Queen!
Speaking vs. Writing
It might not have the same context the problem nevertheless is the same. I do consider my command of the English language better than the average German’s. People ask me about vocabulary, they ask me to translate… but my skills seem to be limited to the written word. Two weeks ago I had to call an English ticket office in order to complete a booking for musical tickets for my mum and sis for next week. I spoke to three people during the process and after I hung up I felt like a complete idiot. I completed my booking and everything went as it was supposed to go but I was struggling for the right words, I was not happy with how I structured my sentences and let’s not even talk about my th! Most probably it wasn’t that bad at all but still……Why is that I almost never have to look up a word in the writing process but speaking stresses me out? Maybe it’s just a matter of practice? When I lived in England I can’t remember to have that problem at all!
How old do I look?
Yes I am one of those individuals who’s usually asked to show ID when they buy alcohol (sidenote: in Germany you get any alcohol by the age of 18!) I saw the how old bot a lot on my Instagram feed lately and of course I needed to try it. With interesting results:
Apparently I look 17 when I show my sister my new scarf
Apparently I look 22 when I send a kiss to my husband
Apparently I look 24 when I drink a 3 liter Cocktail in Las Vegas
Apparently I look 26 when I eat a banana
Apparently I look 28 when I pull a funny face
Apparently I look a mature 29 when I cuddle Olaf
Apparently I look my real age when I look like a circus horse
And apparently I look twice my age when I apply a face mask – and I look male!!!
With that being said, have a nice Thursday and have some fun!
Have you tried the bot before? How old do you look?
