This week I had a little midget inside my stomach who tried to dig gold. Or at least it felt like this. It could also be a bucking unicorn, a wild rhino or maybe even Jeff. Do you remember Jeff?
I have the feeling that I ate something off at our BBQ on Sunday. Bummer! And two days later I still felt like I swallowed a light bulb. When I am sick whether I have a nasty cold or an upset tummy I tend to eat all the carbs! Though I sometimes feel I don’t tolerate grains very well when I am sick it’s always the only thing I can think of eating!
So for breakfast I had a soft pretzel made of spelt flour. It was good but for my taste it tastes a bit too healthy for a pretzel. And I don’t like the fact that they sub the salt topping for sesame seed.
In the morning I also drank my bodyweight in herbal tea. Everything to drown the little midget! It helped a little that I had a workshop in the morning and so I bus busy and couldn’t concentrate on me being unwell.
For lunch I had a whole grain bun with various seeds and for dessert I had a cup of blueberries. And endlessly ginger tea. That finally helped to sort me out again. Gosh I was happy!
As I wanted to go to Crossfit in the evening I needed to feed better than this. Luckily my colleague had a huge stash of bananas in the office and graciously shared with me. It was gone long before I remembered to take a picture 😉
I had another workshop in the afternoon which kept me occupied and short before I had to leave for the gym I had a smoothie. It was good. Lemon, Ginger and Macha along yellowish fruit I can’t remember 😉 And I love this little beanie <3
Crossfit was good! The workout was doable although I hadn’t eaten very much for two days and left me feel exhausted but on top of the world. I came hope feeling maniac and giddy and also ridiculously happy. I was singing and hugging Stefan every two seconds and I couldn’t focus. A clear sign that I need food now!
Potatoes it was! I love this recipe as it’s quick to prepare and very very delicious. Check it out here. Luckily my tummy felt way better and when I woke up this morning I was ravenous and felt completely recovered. Happy WIAW 🙂
I just had the leftover potatoes for breakfast and now I start working. After almost 20 h in the office in the last two days I take it lightly today. I slept in which means actually 7.30 am, had a coffee and spend some time in the blog world. Happy days!
Thanks to lovely Jenn for hosting!
To which kind of food do you turn when you’re sick?
Have a great Wednesday, friends! Oh and it’s International No Diet Day, make sure to celebrate this a little 😉
