Hello friends 🙂 I am back from a long weekend and I loved it! I made it a point for me to get in a solid few hours of sleep, some relaxing time with my husband and also our family. Mentally it’s been a bit of a rough few days as all the grandmas are not well and it feels like we’re only waiting for the inevitable. Every phone call sends a jolt of anxiety through our bodies and every time I check my phone and have no message I feel relieve!
But let’s not speak about sad things when we can also speak of chocolate!
Yes, that is me btw 😉 But before coming to the chocolate topic I tell you a bit about my workouts.
All the gains
…or not! Last week I was working out a lot and I also hit some PRs. I should be happy with it but most lifts were so ugly that I couldn’t be happy about the weight. And we’re also doing a lot of pull-ups lately. But I feel like I am not getting better at it. In contrary I feel like I am getting worse. So I was grumpy and also pretty tired and slack. So I felt it was time for a break and took three days off from working out. It was definitely a good choice. On Monday morning I hit the gym again and it was way better. My workout wasn’t exceptionally good but I enjoyed it again! I can’t ask for more, can I?
All the chocolate
As this was the Easter weekend we were both all about the chocolate! We started off Friday with an ice cream lunch. Yes, in my books it’s totally acceptable to eat ice cream for lunch. This alone and nothing more!
On Sunday morning we went on the traditional easter egg race in our living room 😉 As I tend to express my love with food I went a little overboard with my love again. Stefan had to find many eggs <3
In the afternoon we went to see my in-laws and I got my favorite Kit Kat Easter Bunny! And there was more Ice cream 🙂
We had a nice time together including a very long hide and seek with my three-year old nephew. He was so cute! And we were both pretty impressed where I was physically able to hide! I even tucked myself under the armchair. The little one was so cute saying I was curling up like a snail 😀 We all had a good laugh!
All the work
I am not at a good place with the work on my thesis. I have only little of a work left for getting some results and I am far off from where I should be. The good thing is – though I don’t know if it’s actually a good thing – that I don’t literally have a deadline next week. I do have a presentation but I can show whatever I want. I just wanted to show something substantially. Which is likely not happening. But as I am a super slacker I should be used to this.
But as it’s practically already the “night before” I sat at my desk yesterday working on my data and an alcohol-free beer. I am sick of water and my tummy was already clumped with sugar! Fingers crossed I get at least some results to show!
All the good things
Oh and can you spot our passports behind the bottle? They are still on the desk as we *drumroll* booked our flights on Friday!!!!!! On Saturday we also visited a good friend of our’s who’s traveled the exact same areas a few times already and we borrowed some maps, guides and also got some travel tips.
I would die to see an orca! And I would love to go zip-lining again. And I am seriously considering to book a hotel near Whole Foods wherever possible. 4 and a half months and I am hopefully getting all this! It’s good to have something to look forward.
Now I am leaving for work. I have some appointments today again and a workout scheduled for the evening. And some slacker work to do 😮
