Hello Monday, it’s been a while! Live has been busy and so has work. A lot of things happened the last weeks and I’ve barely kept you in the loop of events. At the moment I am sitting on my sofa and I bargain with me if I should go to the office today or rather work from home.
Outside the apartment the world looks like this which prolongs my commute to work not only but makes it dangerous and annoying. That’s definitely on the negative side. On the positive side is that if I don’t go to the office I won’t be able to go to Crossfit either. So for now I wait a little longer until the plow’s been here and then I decide. So until I know whether I work from home or go to the office let’s try to catch up on the important things of lately.
Work has been busy mainly because there were still some projects to close from the last year. Luckily now the only real task we have is to acquire new participants for the program starting mid-April. I’ve already done the major part of advertisement for now and so all I can do is wait and talk to anyone interested. Which means I have finally some time to work on my dissertation. Last Friday I spend the whole day working on data analyzing. It was hard to find the groove with SPSS (I’ve never been strong with statistics) but for now I can cope with the functions I need.
At a first glance the data isn’t very encouraging but as Stefan put it, I’ll cast a holy lot of more glances at the data in the next weeks. My deadline for data analyzing is mid-April. I have to be done by then. That’s so exciting!
And I finally find the time to work at Starbucks again. I enjoy this immensely and I am productive like nowhere else. I really love what I am doing!
Soccer doesn’t hold any interest for me right now and so I decided to cut it back to a minimum. Due to being sick in the first half of January and then feeling a bit weak the next week I haven’t been doing as much Crossfit as I liked.
As I had planned I went to a weightlifting class. I enjoyed it a lot. I barely had any weight on the bar but the focus was clearly on doing the moves correctly and learning the right technique. I’ll go there again.
As there’s still so much I can’t perform but want to be able to master unconditionally I started to increase my workouts. At the moment I try to go to 4-5 classes a week. It’s demanding but possible.
We’ve made it a point to have some relaxing time as a couple. On of my favorite evening was spent with Pizza, a glass of Wine, the husband and Harry Potter. My stomach troubled me for days afterwards but the evening was wonderful!
The last weekend we’ve been out with my cousin and her boyfriend. We went to a Tapas Bar and enjoyed a cocktail afterwards. The picture is a bit blurry. It was really dark in there but the food was really good. I had meatballs in tomato sauce and crepe with spinach and feta cheese.
Later I enjoyed a delicious Moscow Mule. Whatever is comfortable, right?
I started January with a “Whole30” but never intended to go strict. In contrary I wanted to find a way to eat a way that makes me feel comfortable, doesn’t deprive me, frees me in the way that I don’t have to plan everything ahead and leaves room for the occasional treat. So far I feel very good. After 30 days I feel like I have found a good balance which allows me pizza and a drink but fuels me for a busy life including lots of hard workouts.
And then January was the month of bars. It’s so comfortable to wake up in the morning or come home late and have a piece of good food to calm your raging tummy.
And I still have some inspiration I will put into practice soon! Stay tuned for more yummy treats in the next weeks.
Okay guys I decided to stay at home but nonetheless I need to start working now. By the way I didn’t make it until the game last night. I slept on the couch during the whole spectacle. Oooops 😉 Have a great start to the week!
