Hello Wednesday and happy hump day. Bavaria is under a layer of snow which makes my way to and back home from work a rather slippery and slightly longer experience than I wished. A plus is that this morning I had an excuse to leave the apartment an hour later – hey I needed to wait until die snow plows had finished their work 😉 I used the time wise and whipped up a batch of PB & Chocolate Cornflakes Bars. I love all the bars at the moment and I can’t see an end to clutter you with more recipes anytime soon. And given that I am finally satisfied with the recipe I’ll post it on Friday. But I am ahead of myself. Today it’s only Wednesday and that means we talk food! Big Thanks to Jenn for hosting the food fun!
Lately I am lazy with my breakfast. So I just popped in the kitchen and got me three of these Vegan Protein Rice Crispy Squares which I enjoyed along my morning coffee.
I had an evening event which took until 9pm so I needed to be at the office not before 12pm. I spend the morning on my couch reading the second book of the All Souls Trilogy. That’s what I call a perfect Tuesday morning. I couldn’t help myself but to sneak in the kitchen every now and then and spoon the White Chocolate Macadamia Nutbutter I made on Sunday. True Love!
I arrived at the office reluctantly at 12 pm – the book was pretty gripping when I had to leave – and started the workday with lunch at my desk.
Potatoes came back to my diet fully force and I imbibed a few kilo of this veggie over the last 2 weeks. A girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do! This time I used some Garlic& Herb Nando’s as seasoning. They were perfect!
I spend the day packing letters to motivate new participants to apply for the program and to contact all professors from the university to participate in the program as mentors. It took forever. And then my colleague Katharina and I prepared ourselves for the event. In between I slurped a berry smoothie!
Around 5pm we went to the main campus where we had to participate as speakers in a panel discussion about Mentoring. It was an open forum and not surprisingly the audience was almost exclusively female. Nonetheless I was very pleased with my performance and I think I made my point pretty clear. After the discussion I spoke to a bunch of scholars who asked me a lot about application process and the program. It was a good event and I thing we did a great deal at self-marketing.
When I came home I was bushed. And I was so hungry I could have cried. Luckily my lovely husband was almost done preparing the dinner. We had a stir fry from beef, bell pepper, onions and cashews with a dash of ginger and other spices. Very yummy and satisfying. But to be honest I might even have swallowed carton without noticing.
After the discussion yesterday things are calm here in my office. I have a few mails to send today and then I can focus on my dissertation. This time for real. I need to start writing soon 😉
Have a great Wednesday!
