And then without too much ado the last week of November is commencing. The weekend was awfully short and again packed with activity. Woking late on a Friday and working on a Sunday really sucks.
The first time I finally sat down and relaxed a bit was Sunday evening. But again I didn’t mind as we had a really good time. In beween work at least.
Let’s start with the social part…
As I knew I had to work late on Friday and also on Sunday afternoon I took most of my Thursday off. After working from home a teeny tiny bit in the morning Stefan and I went to a huge sauna paradise which is approximately 1h by car from us. We spend the entire day there just relaxing, sweating and recharging our batteries. When we left in the evening I was ready to fall asleep. I was beyond exhausted and felt totally knocked out. But the next day I felt fresh and energized. Sometimes it’s so good to stop and rest.
On Saturday after the usual grocery shopping I went to my manicurist to get my christmas polish. It sparkles and it’s a dark deep red and when my fingers warm the color changes to a lighter red. My nieces love it 😉
In the evening we met friends at an all-you-can-eat Asian restaurant. I love these fusion restaurants because it’s always a good thing when you get Thai Curry, Sushi and freshly stir-fried Mongol food in one place. I was brave and tried kangaroo for the first time. It was actually pretty good.
After dinner we went to the movies to watch Mockingjay Part I. Our expectations weren’t the highest as all of us liked the 3rd book less than the first two. Luckily we were all surprised how good the movie was.
On Sunday we visited friends. They are about to buy a house and move within the next 3 month. So exciting. They have a cute little boy and are planning to have a second child soon. Stefan was forced to dress up as a lion and make fun with him. So cute! But seriously, EVERYONE is pregnant or plans a pregnancy right now. Maybe there’s something in the water?
Let’s move onto the work part…
On Friday there was the closing event on my colleague’s project. It was a nice event but I was really exhausted. Working from 10 am to 9 pm is not my favorite thing to do on a Friday. We were nice and treated the participants to some sandwiches and a glass of proseccp.
On Saturday Stefan helped me to set up my new laptop with all the programs I need to work on my data. Now I am ready 😉
And then I am still interviewing. As I have two Mentees abroad, one in Switzerland and one in the US I had to be flexible and schedule those interviews for Sunday. I am so glad I have such interesting participants because my interviews are beyond my wildest expectations. I certainly have fantastic data for my dissertation.
And then there’s the workout part…
On Monday I had soccer practice with the girls and after a few weeks it was the first time again we actually had a really good training match. So there’s still something to enjoy there. I am still undecided how to proceed. Maybe this once a week philosophy is a thing.
Tuesday’s Crossfit WOD was a sweaty session of rowing, running to be redone again and again. And then the much dreaded airbike came into action as well. Oh and did I mention the supersets of pull-ups and push-ups. I was so exhausted later that I almost cried. I guess I had too little food before.
On Wednesday we performed supersets of front squats and back squats. It was fun. I love this! But men did my legs feel heavy on Thursday.
Last but obviously not least, let’s move onto food!!!
If you’re all smarty-pants just like me you might have figured out by now that my OBC (Obsessive Burger Consumption – yes, that’s a thing!) hasn’t faded by now.
Frozen Vegan Burgers got defrosted.
Beef Burgers were carefully layered.
And about the best thing were those vegan tofu burgers generously garnished with crispy bacon.
And in case you missed it I also baked those goodies. Paleo Chirstmas Cookies <3 Love them!
Now I have to get serious and start working. I have a tough schedule today and my last workshop tomorrow. Can’t wait till finally everthing is over! Christmas will be so relaxing with being between rotations!
With that said lovelies, I wish you a very nice day and good start to the week!
