What I ate Wednesday #62 – Breakfast for Lunch

November 12, 2014 by Juli 18 Comments

My head is heavy and full like a too ripe watermelon! Research sometimes does that with me. At the moment I am interviewing back to back. And though it’s a really satisfying and interesting thing to do when you leave the office in the evening you just can’t catch a single coherent thought anymore. But I don’t want to complain as my interviews are amazing so far and in 3 weeks time I will have finished all the data collection for my dissertation. Wooohoooo!

Breakfast

Monday morning started rocky. The Portuguese food and wine messed me up a bit and When I woke I just couldn’t find the thought of food appealing at all. Especially no sweet breakfast food. I gladly sucked in the caffeine of my first coffee though. So on my way to the office I made a quick stop at our organic supermarket and bought some spicy tofu burger which I gladly devoured with some hot sauce.

Lunch

Interviewing consumed the better part of my morning and when the clock hit 12 I gladly filled my empty stomach with half of a giant papaya filled with chia pudding. It doesn’t look very appealing but it was good! So I practically swapped meals. Breakfast food for lunch, lunch food for breakfast… My tummy’s cravings are in a different time zone apparently!

Snack

My early afternoon consisted of boring and  mindless tasks and right before my afternoon interviews I had a banana and orange chocolate bar. Sometimes you need a little pick-up don’t you? Interviewing took me until 7pm and then I went directly to my soccer practice.

Dinner

We had a few leftovers from our Saturday Night Burger Shenanigans which we remodeled into salad wraps. We added some chicken for extra protein and satisfaction and I overdid it a little with the hot sauce. At the moment I need everything to be extremely hot and spicy. Nonetheless I felt hungry for dessert. So I stole two very chocolatey No Bake Hazelnut & Chocolate Granola Bars from Stefan. He didn’t mind as I promised to re-stock on Saturday.

As always many thanks to  Jenn for hosting the food fun!

Now I have to work aka interview. I have three again today which is a limit when it comes to being concentrated and empathetic. Tonight we’re going to practice power cleans! That’ll be dirty!!!!! 😉

Have a great Wednesday! Only two more days to go! (I think I say this every Wednesday :-D)
