Today I couldn’t write my post first thing in the morning but had to postpone it to my lunch break. As you might know we’re currently waiting for money! We have pitched for a subsidy program which would ensure our next 5 years. So right this morning we got a feedback regarding our pitch and they had a query regarding our gender strategy as well as they wanted some additional numbers. So I spend the morning on the phone with our financial officer, my colleague and my boss and now I sent it all out! Fingers crossed. If this works we would be safe for 5 years! That’s HUGE!!!!! But till then the foremost question at German Universities is and will always be…
So enough stress for one morning. Let’s go back to the warm and comforting place where memories of food are saved. Aka my mobile phone’s picture gallery 😉 To mix things up a little I’ll tell you a bit my last Sunday. I always show weekdays so I thought you might be interested in some Sunday eats. That’s more or less a very typical weekend day!
I woke up rather late – and as it turned out sooner than expected as we returned to standard time from Saturday to Sunday here in Germany. I curled up on the couch and sipped a cup of coffee. Stefan got up way earlier than on most Sundays and we both enjoyed some time on the couch watching TV together. Around 10 am we got hungry and decided it was a good thing to start the day with our Saturday’s leftovers: BURGER 😀
There were caramelized onion rings, guacamole, hot sauce and bacon! Epic breakfast, if you ask me!
Around noon Stefan left for a soccer match and I hit the kitchen. First I made some granola and then I toyed around with a recipe for a chocolate filled granola bar. It was a huge success. As I had a huge breakfast and more than a few nuts and handfuls of granola to try (hey you ave to make sure that it tastes good, don’t you?) I didn’t really need a proper lunch. But I devoured two of the granola bars 🙂 Stay tuned for the recipe!
I spend the rest of the afternoon reading on the balcony in the sun. Then Stefan came home and took the responsibility of being the dinner chef. It was definitely time to get some veggies in and so served an epic Thai Curry! I LOVE his Thai Curry! It turned out rather hot and I was glad I had this Thai Beer to sooth the burning 😉
I am fairly sure that we had both
another one at least two of those granola bars after dinner. Yes I know they contain oats and yes I know oats are a grain. But I just sent the paleo diet to hell and munched on them anyways. Sometimes that’s healthier than to just watch and feel miserable!
That was my Sunday – Funday – I don’t have to run day…. as always many thanks to Jenn for hosting the food fun!
Have a great Wednesday! Only two more days to go!
