Good morning, Monday.
Nice to have you here again. Cuppa coffee? Alright….. Yeah, let’s catch up 🙂
What happened last week? Good question. In short: a lot!
My last week was crammed with activities. Yes, I can of course give you some details.
Let’s start with the social part…
On Friday afternoon Stefan and I went on another day date to an Irish Pub in Munich right next to Frauenkirche. We planned to go and have lunch but had to reschedule for 2.30pm due to work. Neither of us had lunch though so we were basically starving when we finally arrived there. This happened then… needless to say that we almost cleaned the plate!
In the evening we drove 1,5h to Stefan’s cousin’s Birthday Party at a house scouts use for their get together. At this was pretty much in the middle of nowhere we were supposed to sleep there. After about 1,5 seconds after our arrival we decided to sleep at home. This was supposed to be our night-quarters! Over my dead body! And that was clearly something I feared if we stayed there!
On Saturday good friends came over to have dinner with us. Stefan made fantastic beef burger and we laughed so much that our bellies hurt. Such a blast! I am really looking forward to New Year’s Eve – they will come with us to London :-).
Let’s move onto the work part…
The week started a bit unsmooth but after coping with Tuesday’s craze the week flew by easily!
Work is good at the moment. I have a lot to do but it’s not overwhelming me. I also have enough time to work on my thesis. Las Friday for example I spend my workday at Starbucks again. They have refurbished my favorite on near Munich University and now it looks a bit like an English tearoom. Very lovely. I managed to work through my entire readings in no time. I feel like I really get into the literature now.
On Saturday I had the first interview of my last round of interviews and it was great! The mentee I spoke with absolutely outlined a few of my hypothesis and I am very very happy with the start. Fingers crossed it will continue this way!
And then there’s the workout part…
If you don’t already know by now I gladly inform you that I am totally obsessed with Crossfit. I plan my week around my workouts, I go to work even when I feel like I need a home office day only to go to the workout. In my spare time I watch youtube Crossfit videos, I talk a lot about Crossfit (so cliché) …. Clearly a severe case of totally gone nuts! Never mind – until they find a cure I burpee and bike, I row and squat, I press and push and stretch and toss some kettlebells as if nothing was wrong! And I love the results! Hello biceps! Hello shoulder muscle 😀
Last but obviously not least, let’s move onto food!!!
Last week I finally had success with my Sweetpotato Gnocchi recipe which I posted here.
After Stefan had finished Meghan’s wonderful Peanutbutter Chocolate Chip Granola this weekend I dutifully filled the empty granola glass with the wicket Hazelnut Espresso Granola created by Arman! Wicket because you can’t take your fingers from the glass when you once started to snack on it!
And then in an attempt to feed an uncertain craving I quickly whipped up – and photoshooted for over an hour afterwards – a wonderful treat I am going to post this week!
Buckle up friends! Here you see a first glimpse of my newest creation: Hazelnut and Chocolate Granola Bars. No bake, just 10 minutes to prepare, 1000 % yummy! I just tell you that much: I used Lindt Chocolate and Stefan asked if it was possible to eat only those for the rest of his life 😀
And as a big plus I spend about 1,5h on my balcony reading in the sun yesterday afternoon. When the sun finally set it got quickly pretty cold and I had to go inside but nobody can take a few sunny memories from me now!
Now I start my work day with another coffee and some stuff I need to coordinate. No need to exaggerate on a Monday morning!
Have a nice day!
