Wednesday is no longer my home office day so I am sitting in my office sipping my second coffee and wish I were at home :-P. No kidding. Work has been slow the last week and I am glad and thankful for that as I have a bit of a hard time to adapt. Since we came back from our trip and after my 7 weeks off of work I feel like I am starting over again. I’ve always been a morning person but lately I can’t get up when the alarm bell rings. I am using the snoozing alarm! I’ve never been a snoozing alarm person. And even in the weekends I wake up late-ish! I miss me my wee small hours of the morning! Okay I am exaggerating but early in the morning has always been my favorite part of the day and I don’t enjoy them anymore. Either I sleep or I am tired and run around like a headless chicken.
So it’s not surprising that I need forever to leave for work. So lately I am having breakfast at home in front of the TV and try to wake up. The usual TIT BAKE along with a cup of coffee and a rerun of Brothers & Sisters. And when I am super late like yesterday (I hit the snooze button twice) I have to go with a rerun of Malcolm in the Middle.
I had a coaching with two of my Mentees which took me all morning and I was ravenous when the clock hit 12.30 pm and they were finally gone. So I packed my lunch and hit my colleague Ulrike’s office for some loitering and kept her from working. A Girl’s Gotta Do What a Girl’s Gotta Do 😀
I spend the afternoon basically doing the same with my colleague as with my Mentees in the morning – reviewing CVs and sharing my unlimited wisdom about applications and job interviews. My experience in recruiting really pays off sometimes. In between I had an apple and some coconut water both directly from the fridge. I love my fruit cold and juicy
On my way home in the car I needed another snack. I keep some bars in my glove compartment and the Chocolate Coconut flavoured one was my bar of choice.
When I came home I spend 3 h in the kitchen preparing some epic stuff like a wicked Guacamole and a huge batch of Spicy Cream of Wheat with Pear Compote as breakfast for Stefan. And of course my newest creation: Triple Chickpea Salad. Recipe to come on Friday. When Stefan came home from Soccer we shared some chocolate and had a glass of wine. I passed out pretty early.
So today I luckily don’t have a lot to do at work and I will go to a weight lifting Crossfit class tonight. I need to rethink my Crossfit times as I am always going on the days with a focus on endurance and body weight exercise and I am dying to lift the heavy weights. So cross your fingers for me. The good thing about tonight is that I will for sure set a personal record as I never did today’s kinda lift before 😉
Have a great day you all and don’t forget to buy some chickpeas 😉
Many thanks to lovely Jenn, for hosting this fantastic link-up!
