happy Thursday! It’s high time for sharing the highlights of our USA trip. I’ve already shared all my fantastic eats yesterday so today we’re moving onto the rest And is there a better way than doing this out loud? Thanks Amanda for hosting If you want to learn more about the idea behind the link-up just click here
1. New York
I knew New York from various movies and TV series and I knew I would like this city. But guess what, I loved it. Isn’t that view just breathtaking? I’ve never experienced anything alike before. In the first few days in NY (aka Manhattan as we practically never left the island) my experiences were always accompanied by a strange feeling of ambivalence. On the one hand everything was new, big and exciting and on the other hand I’ve never known any place so well before I’ve been there myself. NY has such an exposure that it was more coming back after a long absence rather than exploring the place for the first time.
2. Brooklyn Bridge
This certainly was one of the best things we did in NY. Walking over the Brooklyn Bridge on a sunny morning. It took us almost 3h to get back and forth and we took a million photos. Such a blast. And ironically totally free
3. Central Park
We had so much fun rowing on the lake in Central Park. The weather was brilliant and the view was amazing. We laughed all the time especially when I almost fell in the lake being totally consumed by finding the right angle for a perfect picture. See me in my perfect rowing outfit 😉
4. Being active
We tried to do and experience as much as possible. We walked crazy distances and went zip-lining (even Stefan though he’s afraid of heights) and horseback riding and even cycled Golden Gate Bridge.
We went for a Football Game or just had a blast trying to snap a ton of funny pictures with our GoPro. Yes that was our little honeymoon treat 😉
5. Breathtaking Views
We definitely saw a lot of stunning things. Like the sunset at Paradise Shore in Bridgeport – a place that truly deserves the name!
Or even when we waited for our table (1,5h) to eat on the Macy’s rooftop at The Cheesecake Factory in San Francisco. So worth the wait!
And let’s not forget the stunning water show at the Bellagio in Las Vegas. We stayed there for almost an hour and saw three different coreographies. Amazing!
We had a lot of contrasts on this trip.
Giant cities, and the ocean….
Ah yes and I couldn’t help myself to make some cheesy collages 😉
So it’s not so off that we truely didn’t want to come back home. Suffice to say for today that we already plan the next trip that is Vancouver, Seattle and the National Parks in Washington for the next summer. Fingers crossed for this to happen.
I can’t decide on a favorite part of that trip. What would be yours?
