happy Thursday! Only 2 days to go until my much-needed holidays. Let’s start Thinking out loud! Thanks Amanda for hosting this link-up party 🙂If you want to learn more about the idea behind the link-up just click here
1. Class Reunion
Breath in, breath out let this sink in and then scream in disbelief: We have our 10 year high school class reunion… 10 year high school class reunion… 10 year high school class reunion!!!!! this Saturday. I am a bit excited and a bit afraid of going there. I am looking forward to seeing old classmates but this will be the first time where illusion will be more important than the real. I mean I am a way better version of myself now. I am slimmer (I was really overweight in high school) I am definitely fitter and stronger, I am healthier and academically speaking I am on the top of the food chain 😉 And what my former classmates think is not really important to me. BUT they said they invited our teachers as well and things definitely change if my literature teacher is going to show up. He’s my Nemesis. He’s the only person in the world I hate passionately (even after 10 years!). He almost made me believe that I am a fail. He told me that I was not smart enough to graduate from high school and showed me over the course of two years whenever possible that what I have to say doesn’t count at all nor is it smart, intelligent or interesting. He made me feel like shit and made me stop believing in myself and my skills. A teacher – can you belive this!!! More reasons to hate that guy? Now I am pondering whether to ignore him altogether or just go there be fabulous and throw a pie at his face 😉
2. Snack Love
Let’s move on to something more fun: Food! Thanks to Tina I am now heavily addicted to smearing nut butter (almond butter or hazelnut butter) on my sweetpotatos. YUMMY!
A couple of weeks ago we booked our car for our road trip in the US. I wanted to rent a GPS with the car because imagining us lost somewhere in the desert or mountains without enough gas or food isn’t really an appealing thought to me. To cut a long story short we figured out that an additional GPS costs 160 Dollar extra! Seriously? 160 Dollar? I checked GPS prices on Amazon and the Target homepage and found out that you can easily buy one for around 100 bucks! Okay, why does there anybody rent such a thing when you can buy it for less? So after we get the car we’ll go shopping for a GPS. Preferably one where you can upload European maps later!
Have I ever told you about that magic place called Biberach where my father-in-law comes from? It’s approximately 1,5 h from us by car and we go there three to four times a year to see family. Every July the small town changes into a wonderful and magic place I not so secretly call Narnia. For one week there’s a giant medieval marksmen’s festival in the town and everyone seems to take part. This is truly a different world then. But the bigger thing I can’t stop marvelling over is the fact that every citizen of this small town seems to be genuinely happy and really EVERYONE is just so welcoming and friendly! VERY different from Munich btw!
The festival starts next Friday and I am already dying to go there. I love to meet the family. There’s a lot of food and booze – our family knows how to celebrate! We go to the theater where around a 100 kids stage Hansel and Gretel this year and there’s a historical parade. It’s like going to an alien world!
5. Quiz time
Because it has been a while now I’ve got some quizzes for you:
I got: The Harbor School from “The O.C.”
So, basically, this is the best school ever. Because it would seem there’s no curriculum, the students hardly ever have projects, and in the end they all get into really good colleges. If you had to do high school over, wouldn’t you want it to be like this?
Big surprise! I got… Chandler 😉
You’re really sarcastic.
How amazing for you. This must be one of the highlights of your life. You’re probably running to tell all your family right about now.
And one for our inner Barney to embrace all our awesomeness! Don’t be shy friends, don’t be modest just be awesome!
As I am obviously awesome today as I scored:
You are MAXIMUM AWESOME. You’re killing it.
How awesome are you?
Should I ignore the asshole or should I bring a pie 😉
Have a lovely day my dear friends!
