happy Thursday! Only 7 days to go until my much-needed holidays. Let’s start Thinking out loud! Thanks Amanda for hosting this link-up party If you want to learn more about the idea behind the link-up just click here
One of the things that excites me the most about our upcoming honeymoon is going on a proper road trip. On of the most important things to have for a proper road trip is a fitting soundtrack. So at the moment I am gathering songs I really really associate with road trip in the US. I want something fun and dashing, something to sing along that gives you the feeling of never going back to real life. I’d die for your recommendations! So far I have this one on the list for sure:
2. Packing Stuff
I have a confession to make: I really suck at packing a suitcase. I always pack too much and especially too much of the wrong stuff. I asked my PhD colleague Melissa, who’s from California what kind of shoes I’d need in the National Parks. And I am so nerdy, the other day I even googled what to wear in the NY summer. And I wonder if it is really clever in the long run to bring some light dresses to NY when you need to wear ballerina shoes or open sandals with them? Or should I better rely on my good old jeans shorts and pair them with some cute sneakers on which I can actually walk more than one mile? Decisions decisions… Any help?
3. Meatball Bliss
Coincidentally I invented the most delicious meatballs yesterday. I am over the moon with the flavor and tastiness of those little cuties. This is love at first bite 😉 I had them with a side of sweetpotato fries for lunch today. I’ll share the recipe with you on Saturday as I won’t be able to post tomorrow. WORK is interferring with my blogging schedule 😉 Yes, that’s how it feels. Haha maybe it’s because I am helping out at my colleague’s project.
As it looks with a lot of careful wording here we might have a go for another 5 years of our project. Means I’ll still have a job here in January. If this really happens I’ll be more than happy and might even dance a little jig 😀
Picture me the most unskilled dancer in the universe! That means I can continue with Crossfit and of course more important continue with my dream job! The sad part of the news is that Stefan won’t be my commute buddy after holiday again as his assignment in Augsburg is over and he’ll go back to Munich headquarters. I am not happy to lose my daily quality time with him. On the contrary it’s maybe a good thing that we need to warm up our Dating Friday then 😀 The silver lining….
I haven’t said much about Crossfit lately. I still go there regularly at least once but almost always twice a week. I love it and I see progress which makes me love it even more. Today I told Jaz, my coach, that I am slightly addicted and he laughed in respond and told me that if not I did something wrong so far and should come more often to the Gym. That’s what I love so much about it. Everybody is kind of fully committed to the sports. Though my arms feel like long rubber worms after a workout or even though I have callouses like a 50 year old ironworker. And though a medicine ball almost broke my nose the other day while I did 120!!! wall balls. Before you stop breathing I didn’t do them in a row. There was about 1,5 k rowing in between the sets 😛 No…. I just love Crossfit more than any other sports before.
I can’t believe it’s more or lest just one week until I do this:
What are your holiday plans/ plans for the summer?
I would love to hear your Road Trip Playlists!
Have a lovely day!
