Happy Wednesday and happy WIAW! Right after hitting the publish button I have to go to an appointment with the tax accountant in order to get my tax declaration done. My most dreaded task in the world is doing my personal filing and by that doing the tax. Every year right before having to do the tax declaration I am filing (and searching a specific paper) and cursing my little heart out. I am just not made for paperwork. I am too chaotic! Stefan is brilliant. He’s almost ahead of all the filing and I might have to confess that I
very regularly sometimes bribe him into doing my stuff, too.
So but I am digressing… it’s Wednesday, I am here for WIAW and I am going to show you my Monday eats today. Tuesdays are just so predictable 😉
This was a good one! On Sunday we baked some cake. Stefan wanted to bring some to work for celebrating his birthday. He got up earlier than me as he had to be at work early. We had to borrow his parent’s car and commute seperately as I had to work until late and he had an appointment in our hometown in the evening. So when I got up he was already gone but he had left a piece of cake for me on the counter. Though I really intendet to take it with me as a lunch dessert the little thing screamed at me to eat it immediately. So it was a goner 😉
I wasn’t hungry all morning but around 11am a weird craving for something cold hit me. Luckily there were some peaches and raspberries in the fridge. I LOVE MY FRUIT IVCE COLD! People say that cold fruit is not as flavorful as warm fruit but I can’t second that.
I went shopping for the workshops with one of my co-workers and then we had lunch together. I had a huge salad made of rocket, tomatoes, bell pepper, asparagus and strawberries along with a bun that roughly translated was called a granola bar (which it was not) and some ginger and cilantro hummus. I was so full after lunch that I really could have done with a nap. But unfortunately there was a lot of work to do.
Around 5 pm my colleague and I hit the road for the main campus. We had a nice chat over a cup of coffee and then we went to a panel discussion our boss was hosting. It was very interesting mainly because it was pretty much about my topic of research.
I left the university at 8.15 pm and was at home at 9 pm on the dot. Luckily the ride was fast because I was hungry enough to eat the steering wheel!
Dinner was a quick fix of cantaloup with Parma ham. And as a dessert we had another piece of this lovely cake. We had a nice evening together with a long chat. What a difference one day of going to work seperatedly makes 😉
Are you a cake for breakfast person? Seriously, is there anybody who’s not???
Tax declarations – the atone for one’s sins on earth! Any counterpoints?
Okay , another coffee before going to my personal hell. Oh yeah and then I have to get a new driver’s license. My old one has still my maiden name on it and the automobile association told me that it might be not very wise to go to the US with a license with a different name on it. Later I am going to meet a pregnant friend of mine. Again one … and counting… but no pressure here on us 😉
Hope you have a lovely morning! Happy Wednesday Bloggie friends!
And many thanks to lovely Jenn, for hosting this fantastic link-up!
