I hope you have a good day! I don’t work today as I have an appointment at the dentist later. I hate going to the dentist but I broke a piece of one tooth and so I have no choice. After that I am meeting my friend Manu for lunch. I am already very much looking forward to meeting her!
But first today I am here for an update about my New Body Makeover Challenge. I am 9 weeks into my new year’s goals which centers around my half marathon training. After a great week 8 I struggled a bit with keeping up my pace but let’s have a look at the details…
New Body Makeover Challenge – Week 9
Okay last week was a bit ambivalent. Let’s start with the bad. I slept way too little. Around 6 hours a night. I felt sluggish and weak last week. I had three soccer practices in a row where I was absolutely not satisfied with my performance. I couldn’t lift my feet properly, I was slowly and unconcentrated. I had to ditch one planned workout in order to get my energy back. Then there was the food. I fell back a little into my snacking patterns but at this point it was necessary to eat. Next time I will try to eat a proper snack in order to refuel and try to stay away from the little nibbles. And I need to make a confession: I had chocolate! Lot’s of chocolate. And I am not even sorry about that. I absolutely broke with my fast plans. So this might simply not be for me. And I am absolutely okay with that. I am not even religious so fasting and I don’t go well together.
But of course there were good things too. I had a great meal plan and I managed to up my portions a bit. I think that’s necessary for me! And what I consider a real win: I FEEL GOOD ABOUT MY FOOD! Though eating chocolate and snacking a little too much I felt great.
But let’s look at the chart now:
Every week you have 21 meals (without snacks) to make a healthy food choice. For every healthy food choice you may color one smiley. So you have 21 smileys to color at max. My food was healthy most of the time. Despite the one burger and fries meal all my meals were healthy. So I can color 2o smilies 🙂 As I had chocolate in between I don’t consider that as a meal.
Let’s evaluate the workout part…
For every day you worked out there’s also a smiley to color. I am not so happy with my workout performance but I can still color 4 smileys for exercising. Next weeks I will focus on concentrating more and most importantly sleeping more in order to have enough energy to exercise.
By the way I must do soemthing right as my brother-in-law told me yesterday that I looked pretty fit lately 😉 YAY!!!
My lessons learned from week #9
- I shouldn’t fuss too much about everything!
- Beneath working out and eating healthy there’s a fun life we all should enjoy from time to time
- I need to sleep more!

- Concentrating during the workouts

Okay now I have to brush my teeth for at least 20 minute. And then head to Munich. It’s also possible that there might happen some shopping later. Not that I need any more clothes 😉 But spring is coming and I need a few lovely dresses. Really NEED THEM!
