I hope you all had a fantastic weekend so far! Though it’s already Sunday to me it feels like Saturday as I had to work yesterday. Luckily I’ll have a day off tomorrow. Not so great is that I’ll have an appointment at my dentist. But after that I’ll meet one of my best girlfriends. We haven’t met since my wedding! So it’s high time for a proper catch up!
Today there’s our first soccer match. AND ITS POURING BUCKETS OUTSIDE!!! Not that I’m complaining… But first today we’re going to the hospital and meet our lovely new little niece!!! She’s two days old and I can’t wait to finally see her mommy and her!
But for now let’s talk about the last macronutrient left: Carbs! Thanks Arman for hosting this link-up!
1. What is your all time favourite carbohydrate based food/dish?
2. What is your favourite fruit?
I love fruit. Summer fruits like peaches, apricots and melons make me happy! My favorites are berries! Strawberries, raspberries and my all time favorite: blueberries! Can’t wait for the season to start! Unfortunately there’s always such a little time when you get them here.
3. What is your favourite grain?
4. What is your favourite starchy vegetable?
Sweetpotato! This is one of my favorite recipes by Jenn from Peas and Crayons. You can find it here
5. Which carb receives unfair flack?
Rice again. Though many diets bann rice completely you just can’t deny the health benefits from this grain. Rice contains many great nutrients like different types of Vitamin B, D, calcium, fiber, iron, and a variety of minerals that are essential for our bodies. Read more about the benefits of rice here
6.My favourite carb embracing recipes
I love my Gingerbread Granola
7. What is YOUR perception of this macronutrient? What benefits do CARBS play in YOUR personal eating habits?
Carbs are essential for our bodies especially when you exercise a lot. It’s necessary to fuel us. I can’t understand how people keep going on a low-carb diet. As a German bread is an essential part of our diet. So are carb-based dishes in general. We grow up with carbs as our main food source. For me personally I had a hard time to cut back the carbs in the beginning but now my carb sources are mainly oats, vegetables, fruits and tortillas. I do not really limit me but I make sure to get as much fresh food as possible. With banning as much sugar from my diet as possible many carb-based options are a no-no anyways.
On holiday I always make up for it. On holidays I tend to eat all the carbs!
Here’s my selfie 🙂
Okay now I am more than hungry!!! And then soon we’ll meet little Nina. Can’t wait to see the little pinky face ♥
Hope you have a lovely Sunday!
