I hope you have a good day! Mine started blissful! I woke up at 7 am without an alarm. I have an doctor’s appointment this afternoon and therefore I work from home today. As I will have to work on Saturday this week as well I won’t do anything despite checking my emails today 🙂
But first today I am here for an update about my New Body Makeover Challenge. I am eight weeks into my new year’s goals which centers around my half marathon training. After two lost weeks I started over last Monday. Let’s see what happened in week 8…
New Body Makeover Challenge – Week 8
Let’s start with the good: I achieved almost all my goals. I made a great meal plan and stuck to it. I enjoyed my mixed workouts though it was tough this week. I really had to push hard through my workouts which I equally dreaded and enjoyed. I made a huge improvement with the snacking. I added two pre-workout snacks to my meal plan as I felt the need of more fuel. So for this week I added them in advance. I not once had a snack without hunger! I twice caught myself with the hand in the almond bag but questioned my action and stopped. I am proud!
The second great thing is that I finally feel some change in my body. I am stronger, have more muscles and feel better! Yay! Next step would be to lean out a little but I’m not pushing anything. I just try to keep up the good work!
Nor for the bad: I broke my fast and had a glass of sparkling wine when we celebrated our two-year engagement anniversary on Friday. But I don’t care. It was a nice treat and wont fuss about it anymore. Period!
But let’s look at the chart now:
Every week you have 21 meals (without snacks) to make a healthy food choice. For every healthy food choice you may color one smiley. So you have 21 smileys to color at max. My food was healthy all the time. I feel great! CHEATING IS SO NOT WORTH IT! And I have to remember that there are many many healthy no-cheat treats out there. I try to remember that. So I can color 21 smilies 🙂
Let’s evaluate the workout part…
For every day you worked out there’s also a smiley to color. I am super happy with my workout regime. I can color 5 smileys for exercising. That was planned. More wouldn’t be healthy anymore. I swapped a run for a strength workout as this came handier for me. Soreness was my permanent companion last week! Especially the glutes and legs workout really made me suffer.
My lessons learned from week #8
- I still have to work on my meal planning skills. I need to incorporate more pre-workout fuel
- I can do it!
Goals for week #9
- Keep up the good work
- Stay engaged
- Rest a little more
I love to start the week with a good list! So I’m linking up with my fellow list maker Meghan.
What was your best workout last week?
Do you follow a workout plan or do you exercise as the whim takes you?
Have a great start to the week lovelies!
