I hope you have a good day! My weekend was horribly busy and since we had to attend the funeral on Friday I wasn’t able to share my New Body Makeover Update for week 6 with you. I promise to catch up on this tomorrow. Just so much for that I had a great week of workouts! Today was my second and unfortunately last kickboxing class and it was great fun. Best part was – just as last week – to have one of the coaches as sparring partner. You don’t have to hold back and can just punch then in the face – if you are able to hit… not easy 🙂
But I made a major mistake with running yesterday. My muscles were tired and sore and I wasn’t really fast at neither punching nor kicking. Nevertheless I enjoyed my run a lot and it was high time as the half-marathon date is coming closer. It’s only 2 month today and I am getting the jitters peu a peu 😉 So I am happy to be able to give you an update on my half-marathon training.
And it’s really been a while since my last long run. Yesterday was a pretty sunny and warm day here and luckily I had no soccer practice scheduled. As my husband had soccer practice I took the opportunity and went for a long run on my own. It was the first time I ran such a long distance alone and I enjoyed to run my own pace. I felt that I ran pretty fast but eventually I wasn’t faster than before. I knew it would be sunny and warm but I wasn’t prepared for 17°C! Only after 5 minutes I thought about going back and changing my clothes. But I was too lazy and didn’t want to start over again. So I sweated the entire 16 km 😛 When I came home almost 2 h later I stretched properly and kneaded my muscles a bit on my foam roller. It hurt so much but I am glad I did.
I was curious how much water I would lose during such a long run so I weighed myself before and after. It was 1,1 kg weight difference! So crazy! So I sat down and drank 1,5 liters to re-hydrate. I think for my half-marathon 2,5 h will be a reasonable time for me. I am okay with that. Next thing on my to-do list is to put together a motivation play list.
On Saturday evening we made up for our missed Valentine’s Day Dinner and went to a very fancy Thai Restaurant in Munich. Gosh was that food good! I even tried the prawns and liked them! We shared a starter: Filled Wild Pepper Leaves. As a main dish I had a fantastic Red Chicken Thai Curry and a lovely cocktail with chili and ginger that’s called Indian Passion. The hubby had beef, prawns and chicken in different sauces. As a dessert we shared a Lemongrass Curcuma Creme Brulée. The evening was beyond expensive but so worth it. It was good for us to have some quality time together. I made it a rule not to talk about work or soccer and we only slipped once talking about the next practice very briefly. Today we needed to catch up on our chores and planned our Lake Tahoe, Yosemite National Park week a little. It’s really overwhelming. As a European you don’t know these distances. But I am so bouncy when I think about our trip! Travelling is my passion. If I could I would travel the world for at least a year! But for now I’m happy with my USA trip 🙂
Okay I’m ready for dinner now! Hope your days were good?
Any recommendations for my playlist?
Have a great Sunday dear bloggie friends.
