I hope you have a good day! I woke up with a sore throat! BUMMER! I feel like I am not getting really healthy and every week there’s something different that keeps me from working out and limits my energy as well as my patience. Last week my arm was injured and this week I felt drained and had a queasy tummy since after my medical examination on Monday. Now with the upcoming weekend my sore throat really sucks!
A good thing is that most probably I will make my sweet escape around 1pm today. I’ve worked many long hours over the last two weeks and I reward myself with a short Friday. I won’t do anything work-related today but focus totally on my presentation next week! I haven’t made any progress on it yet. Heeeelp!!!! But let’s move to my training now…
Every week for 12 weeks I will give you an update on my New Body Makeover Challenge on Friday. I am three weeks into my new year’s goals which centers around my half marathon training. Week one was a success and week two was a bit slow. Let’s see what happened in week 3…
New Body Makeover Challenge – Week 3
Every week you have 21 meals (without snacks) to make a healthy food choice. For every healthy food choice you may color one smiley. So you have 21 smileys to color at max. I did almost perfect last week and so I was allowed to color 20 smileys. I am a striver – I have to live with that 😉 I slipped only once. I am not ashamed and I had some champagne. I really didn’t intend to drink at all but we had tickets for a magic show including a glass of champagne. And I just couldn’t bring myself to waste that voucher #sorrynotsorry
I did good on the other days but my meals got a little boring and repetitive. And I munched on too big portions of nuts and seeds. Maybe I should cut back a little on the fats. After my doctor’s appointment I didn’t really found back to my stride and my tummy is queasy which diminishes my motivation! You can see here what I ate on a typical day.
I need to change that next week otherwise my motivation will go bust and I’ll find myself covered in sticky bbq sauce and ellbow-deep in a plate full of spareribs snarling at anybody who comes too close! Maybe more likely I will chuck a few pints and stage my own embarrassing version of timber. I just can’t get that song out of my head!
Let’s evaluate the workout part…
For every day you worked out there’s also a smiley to color. I managed to work out more and could three smileys for exercising. Better but not great yet. Though One of these workouts was our 21k run on Sunday that should probably count for 2 😉 You can read about it here.
My lessons learned from week #3
- The meal plan did not work for me in week 3 and I am tempted to chuck it and create my own or get a customized one that works for me.
- I managed to sleep a little more!
- I lost focus of my portion sizes – a constant battle for me.They are always either too big or too small. I never get a balance!
- The fun part came a bit short – there were so many obligations last week! I am sure when I start working out properly again there will be a lot more fun! I am happy for the soccer season to start again soon! That gives me some structure!
I’ve already made my goals for week 4 and I really hope this week will be easier again!
I hope you have a good start to the weekend and a brilliant Friday, too!
