Happy Hump Day! Today I am staying at home and I have nothing to do than catching up on my chores! Yes I said nothing and meant laundry, meal prepping, christmas cards, cleaning and decorating. Yes I am using heavy sarcasm 😉 I am quite a sarcastic person but people tell me all the time that my (obvious!) sarcastic little remarks are not always that obvious! I don’t know what they are talking about as I am always so straight forward! (If you didn’t realize that was sarcasm as well 😉 ) Okay but jokes aside we’re here for a serious reason: food! WIAW to be precise!
I am holding it with Oscar Wilde food-wise as he wisely quoted:
I can’t stand people who do not take food seriously!
Along these lines let’s get down to serious business! Thanks Jenn for hosting this awesome link-up! By the way have you read her hilarious post yesterday? You have to! It’s too good!
Against my nature I decided to mix it up a little for today! NO OATMEAL! Shocking I know! But I wasn’t disappointed by my banana egg bake. I drizzled it with some almond butter. Yummy and definitely worth repeating! As my husband hates banana I was not eating in the car but waited until I arrived at the office. When I say he hates it I am downplaying his relationship to bananas. He gets sick when he smells banana and it gets even worse when the banana is warm. As I don’t want a sick hubby in the car (I would have to drive and couldn’t eat either …… yes sarcasm! You get better!) I decided to eat in the office. We shared a big tumbler of vanilla coffee though!
Along with my morning coffee I had a pink Lady apple which I dipped in some almond butter, too! I bought that jar of almond butter months ago but neglected it ever since. I am more a fan of other nut butters but lately almond butter seems to become more popular with my taste buds.
I rediscovered my jar of quinoa last week and wanted to cook something with it since then. So for lunch I hade some warm zucchini tomato salad with quinoa. As a dressing I used some balsamic vinegar and lemon juice. It was delicious! I love the vinegar grain combo! As a dessert I had one of these lovelies.
I couldn’t remember the last time I had soy yoghurt. I found a brand with no added sugar and decided to try it. I mixed it with some cocoa powder and topped with frozen raspberries. It was a really nice afternoon pick-me up! At 7 pm I had my personal training session. Oh my gosh I felt the burn! When I came home I was ravenous. Luckily I still have some Christmas stollen from my mum-in-law left. Did I tell you that she made a huge stollen just for me with whole wheat spelt flour and milk protein free? She’s the best mum-in-law a girl could wish for!!! I already made my way half through it! Ooops 😀
For dinner I needed something cheesy. I just felt it was time for a hot delicious treat of melted cheese. So we decided it was time for spinach chicken. One of my favorite chicken recipes. It absolutely hit the spot. So good!
Later I had two unpictured Lemon Hearts. I really ate a lot yesterday The way I like it! I passed out on the couch soon after…
So now I am going to make my appartement pretty for the holidays I love this time of the year! It’s so festive and I am in a such a good mood all the time. Later on I will of course sneak in some time for all your wonderful WIAW posts! It’s always a pleasure to see so many wonderful dishes! Happy Wednesday Bloggie friends and
