it’s Monday morning and I am officially starting my 10 day detox programm today. I just felt it was time to push the reset button after a few weeks of too much indulgence. The principles are easy: Two liquid and one solid meal a day plus two snacks if necessary. No sugar, no alcohol and along list of other NOs. I will give you a few more details over the week. And hey who says you can’t have a fabulous meal on a detox?
I am a huge fan of green smoothies and as two liquid meals are part of this detox I will for sure have at least one green smoothie a day. I bet it’s rather two green smoothies. Plus it’s a fabulous way to top up the amount of greens in your diet…
Green Detox Smoothie
- 70g frozen spinach
- 30g frozen kale
- 1 green apple
- 330ml coconut water
- 1/3 cup pineapple
- Give the frozen goods and about 1/3 of the coconut water into a blender and mix until smooth
- Now add the fruits and blend again
- At last add the remaining coconut water and blend again until creamy
Nutritional Information: 230 kcal, 44,8g carbs, 4,3g fat, 4,1g protein
Though of course coffee is a big fat NO in the detox I will skip this rule altogether. Restricting coffee is simply under my baseline and I know I would have a cup for sure at least the day after tomorrow. Or worse quit the detox completely. So I am not torturing myself and simply have coffee. It’s better for the people around me too! I am very cranky without my coffee! You think I am an addict? Yes you’re right! #sorrynotsorry I will limit myself to two cups a day though.
Speaking about coffee I will now have a cup with allowed delicious unsweetened almond milk. YUM!
