this is a great Wednesday for me entirely! Not only it’s my usual home office day but tomorrow will be the german national holiday and on Friday (bridge day) I decided to work from home as well. So today is not my usual Hump Day but kinda Friday!!! And if that was not enough to look forward to, today we’re going to (hopefully) enjoy the first Champions League soccer match with our friends at our favorite pub! It’s kind of a tradition for us to watch the matches there together. Always so much fun! Go FC Bayern – we’re looking forward to a looooooong Champions League season!

I’ve seen some interesting posts over the last few weeks were blogger posted about their typical days. I liked that a lot because it’s so interesting to see how other people spend their days. So for today I decided to show you not only what I ate but also what I did yesterday. Photo heavy!!!
Tuesdays are usually my busiest work days. I don’t know why but they tend to turn out rather chaotic most of the time. My husband and I only work 5 min by car from each other. He has to work long hours most of the time but we need to leave early for soccer practice. So we have to be at work pretty early in order to leave in time. I usualy get up 5.15-5.30 am on workdays. I am slow as hell in the morning!
5.30 am – bathroom time
5.45 am – food prepping whilst watching/ listening to a PLL episode
6.20 am – taking my medicine & 2 cups of green tea or lemon water
6.25 am – packing my sports gear, bag, breakfast & cooler
6.30 am – departure (packed for a 4-week vacation as usual)
My husband drives us to work which takes us about 1h. Lucky me so I can have breakfast in the car. We also share a tumbler with coffee & hazelnut milk. I love us travelling to work together! This really is quality time for us.
Yesterday I had of course oatmeal with cinnamon and apple pie topping which means cooked apple with raisins and cinnamon. Tastes like apple pie – so yummy! It’s like starting the day with a dessert 🙂 Who doesn’t like that?
7.30 am – arriving at my office, cooking coffee, getting started
When I started my outlook I was a little shocked as I had 12 new subscriptions for my training program for which I am currently interviewing. Monday was the last possible date to subscribe and apparently many scientists like to wait until the last minute to get their stuff done (including me btw 😉 So 12 more interviews next week 😛 But I think I might be a nice girl and offer a slot in the program to all of them. It’s only 5 people more than originally intended and I am positive I can cover that too!
I spent the morning with some office admin stuff and the never ending project accounting. I am so not interested in any finance stuff. At 10 am our new student assistant came for her first day at work and I spend some time with her showing her everything she needed to know to get started. I usually have my mid-morning snack around 10 am but yesterday there was no time left for food.
I was ravenous when it was finally lunch time and my salad with roasted chicken breast, guac and honey mustard dressing (thank you honey) totally hit the spot. I had another cup of coffee with my latest acquisition: spelt milk. Really sweet and yummy – unfortunately a little thin.
The afternoon passed so quickly and I got a lot of tiny bits and pieces done I usually avoid doing. Like filing, making telephone calls to Accounting, HR and some other admin departments. Working at a German University you have days where you are alone in the office and then there are days where no workplace is vacant. Yesterday our two offices were overcrowded and I am bad at coping with too much noise around me. I was quite bouncy the whole afternoon.
Since I was not really focused on work I decided to organize myself and created a big spreadsheet with all the tasks I have to do within the next two weeks – work-related and not work-related. Holy moly I reckon I have to give up sleep!
We headed for the soccer club where my husband attended a meeting with the department of women & girl’s soccer and I changed into my new neon pink running cloth. I was really sore from Monday’s practice & leg day and I really had to run it out. I ran for about 1h and did some decent stretching afterwards. Have you noticed the fat burning rate? Pretty cool!
We came home much later than intended and cooked a quick supper. I am including as many protein to my diet as possible in order to loose the weight I gained within the last few weeks. So greek style gyros and tzatzicki was perfect for us. And so yummy! I love spicy food! Afterwards I curled up on the sofa and we watched the new episode of The Mentalist and started with Elementary. But I was really tired and so sore that I fell asleep on the sofa pretty fast.
Today my sister and I planned to try bikram yoga for the first time. But our train to Munich was delayed and we missed the class. Major Fail! So we headed to Starbucks and I had my new love PSL ♥ Then I bought some hairbands in different colors and new training shorts. Today it’s finally time to tackle my first want-do list goal. More tomorrow 🙂
