first of all:
Congratualtions Jenn and Paul to you very very lovely little chickpea! You’re so blessed! I am very happy for you!
After a week horribly full of sports and hardly any sitting down and relaxing I felt a little ill again yesterday. I had a sore throat and I had lost my stride. But this was just the cherry on top of a horrible day! First thing in the morning I made a mess out of my kitchen when I tried to mix my protein shake in the mixer without closing it properly. It was really rainy all day but in my office the air was super stuffy. I had a headache befor the clock hit 9am. I was forced to spend some hours doing some project accounting and about 5 people pissed me off because miraculously nobody was in charge of anything. And nobody could provide me with certain information though I was given these kind of information from this very department last May.. and so on. My headach got worse and I was a little snappy maybe…. I hope I was not too crabby because normally I am super nice to other people. One of my clients cancelled our afternoon appointment and so I had no excuse to postpone the accounting. It was one of those super hungry days and I was done with my packed food by 3pm. Luckily I had to stop at the local organic supermarket anyway and I got more food for the afternoon. But I will go more into detail on this topic now since it’s WIAW!!!!
Here you go with my WIAW post – the whiney edition 😛
I promised to be a little more creative this week and I hope I succeeded in this department yesterday at least.
Okay I did not start to be creative with my breakfast. It was my usual bowl of beloved oatmeal. But it’s the first time I share my fall version of oatmeal which is cinnamon oatmeal topped with fresh blackberries, almonds and a spoon of hazelnut butter. I love cinnamon and in combination with the almonds it tasted very christmassy. Coffee was involved of course 🙂
I found some very ripe strawberries on Monday which had to be eaten asap. So meal#2 was a wonderful strawberry parfait consisting of strawberries (surprise!), natural soy yoghurt, vanilla and a sprinkle of gingerbread granola. Yum Yum 🙂 and of course more coffee was involved!
For meal #3 I prepared some delicious salad wraps filled with iceberg lettuce, carrots, bell peppers, tomatos and chickpeas. They were perfect and absolutely hit the spot but I overestimated their ability to give me enough fuel for lunchtime. They were really big but not enough at all. So pretty fast I had meal #4…
After a decent 10 minutes cleaning the kitchen this morning I finally managed to mix this vanilla protein shake enriched by 1/2 banana. In the morning it was absolutely creamy but in the afternoon it had lost some consistency. It was the first time that I added some banana to my protein shake and it tasted actually pretty good. The banana added depth to the flavor and balanced it out nicely. I will add some fruit to the shake more often now!
We had some chicken caprese with buffalo mozzarella and tomato and some unpictured leftover salad with a dressing made of pumkin seed oil.
We both had a pretty shitty work day so we decided we deserved a treat. It was time for Martini Madness 🙂
I spend the greater part of the evening food prepping and watching the first season of Once upon a time. I munched on some almonds and figs whilst meal prepping. They were gone before picturing them was possible :-)Have you ever tries to top your figs with hazelnut butter? THIS IS THE BEST COMBO EVER!!!!! Try it, try it now!
The evening was way better than the day and that somehow conciliated me. But thank God it’s my home office day today. I will curl up on the couch with my laptop and get some stuff done in my pyjama pants! And later on I will work myself through all your winderful WIAW posts. Thanks Jenn as always for hosting this!
