life, aka work is a little slow at the moment and I am su darn happy to work from my home office today. Yesterday I had to get up at 5am and we left the house at 6am. At work I hardly managed to keep my eyes open. But luckily I had an appointment regarding the project accounting I am responsible for. YAY – not! This worked out great considering the fact that I saw all the figures twice. My vision was a little blurry. My eyes hurt and I felt a cold arriving. Luckily (and this time I mean it) I was able to leave around 3.30pm since I had an appointment for getting a manicure. Devine!!!
The great thin about Wednesdays is that it’s my regular home office day. I wasn’t able to work from home the last 4 weeks since my colleague was on annual leave and I had to “hold the fort”! But today I am finally able to stay at home again. Means I am going to the gym and then cuddle up on my sofa and work a few ours while sipping coffee. Not so different from working in my office despite the fact that my pyjama pants wouldn’t really make a great impression at work 😉
The other good thing about Wednesdays is, that it’s WIAW again 🙂
So let’s move to all the yummyness…
Over the last days I began to track my nutrition more thoroughly. Means I paid more attention to the percentage of carbs, protein and fat of my meals. I realized that I am a bit too high in carbs and that I have to adjust a little in order to get rid of the pounds I gained over the last 2 month whilst being treated with cortisone. Since cottage cheese, curd and so on is still not possibel I need to increase other sources of protein. So I had 2egg whites and a handful of cherry tomatos for meal#2.
For meal #3 I had a veggie quinoa salad I prepared Sunday evening. I love these kinds of salats especially when they are at least 1 day old. It gets better during the process of marinading. Doesn’t look very nice but I liked it.
I left the office early and grabbed a vegan granola bar from my local organic supermarket for meal #4. This granola bar is soooo delicious! I buy it only once in a while for myself because it has chocolate on it. Chocolate once was my biggest addiction and I try to avoid to eat chocolate as much as possible. I feel I could have a relapse if I indulge in chocolate too regularly. I usually share this granola bar with my husband and he gets the chocolaty side. Yesterday I needed one for on own as a power plate session and abs workout was scheduled.
Considering carbs, protein and fat I had a good day. Though maybe a little to littel calories. I need to watch that better to get my metabolism running properly again. My medication did great things improving my health but ruined my metabolism at the same time. I have to be very careful with food in order to get it back on track. Fingers crossed this will happen rather sooner then later ;-P
Enough wallowed in self-pity! I’ll better get my butt moving now. I downloaded the Nike Training App and I have to say I am absolutely hooked! Great workouts and easy to handel. I’ll post about it when I am more familiar with the app.
Later on I will be spending some serious time meal prepping since we have planned some veggie based recipes for the rest of the week and I will prepare all the bell peppers, carrots, zucchinis, avocados and beans for our salad wraps, mixed salads and so on today.
Hope you had a yummy day yesterday? Thanks Jenn for hosting this!
